The talking points and bots are out, my feeds are full of “Trump’s tanking the economy on purpose because he’s a genius!”

Is the shipping from Napa cost prohibitive? I got some extra allocations that I am looking to shed next year if you are interested.

It’s not the shipping. It’s the subpar American wine that’s the problem.

It's 5D chess.  Tank the stock market, privatize SS, invest SS funds in stock market, pump the stock market, and voila SS is flush with cash ...rinse and repeat.

If this was just a tariff on wine, that would be weird but very manageable. It's no big deal. But giant tariffs like that are going to lead to retaliation. It is going to lead to hardship in many areas.

Este. If I wanted overpriced oak bombs. I’ll just drink Yellowtail then set a 100 bill on fire.

Ana being a Cakebread or Silver Oak honk is very on brand .

If we are talking Montrachet replacement, I’d go with kongsgaard judge. But I’m not really a wine snob. I don’t think I have had a cakebread or a silver oak in over a decade, probably longer. Rioja and malbecs get a lot of play in my house. Again, not a wine snob, but I can probably dig something you would like out of the cellar. I like to buy good wine from good people practicing good craft. Sometimes I even buy just ok wine from good people so they can stay in business and hopefully succeed. That spend is all stateside. Y’all should try it. I promise you your wine taste will survive it.

So must adults in this situation would call off this shit but he is too much of a psycho to admit he is wrong and I am here for it. If this last for another month things could get awesomely bad.

The mental gymnastics by Trump supporters these last couple of months are quite remarkable.

Trump reminds me of an amatuer bad painter who, when making an error, trying to fix it actually makes it worse and so he has completely lost the painting and it's ruined but he needs to fix it and with every brushstroke it gets worse and he just won't put the brush down because of ego and fear and chaos.

“It’s called locavorism, shitlib. It’s when you do your grocery shopping at farmers markets or maybe you join a coop and have a community kitchen garden.  You go to little wineries and vineyards on weekends to do tasting and appreciate the local terroir. You wouldn’t get it, you’re out of touch with regular Americans who work for a living. Why don’t you try keeping urban chickens.”

I think Trump will lose the "Blue Wall turned Red Wall" bloc with the economy. The 40% who love him will love him no matter what. The 40% who hate him will hate him no matter what. The people who decide elections are already jumping off the bandwagon and anymore damage to our 401k's, businesses, IRA's, play money stock portfolios, etc. is just gonna turn folks against him even more.

That said, he's termed out and in his 80's-- what does he care about needing votes or approvals? He got the last votes he needed and he and his con-artist future biographer can write a vanity piece book as his "legacy" and I'm sure Simon Schuster will publish it because there is money to be made.

I guess I'm on the ledge closest to the sliding glass door because I'm still not resigned to believe that he can completely disband the constitution and elections and install himself with the military as the President past 2028. I really think that D's need to be coalescing around the 2028 nominee and grooming him/her from now until 2028 in the spotlight as the anti-Trump/Vance. The pendelum will swing!

He’s mentioned it several times and experience holds that what he says out loud he tries to do.  I expect some serious move to this.  If I were betting today, JD will name him his running mate and promise that he’ll be the real leader.

Now that I can see. But Trump for a 3rd term formally-- no way.

They've had decades of practice.

Republican mental gymnastics have gone on far longer than the past 10 years. I'd say they first hopped on the pommel horse with Nixon, and they've only gotten better at it since.

“Remember when I ran on lowering prices and ending wars? Well shut the fuck up about prices. They’re going to keep rising and that’s awesome now. You will feel a lot of pain, and that too is awesome. Oh and about that wars thing… yeah we’re about to start annexing countries against their will. Which will end NATO and maybe kick off WW3.”

The only thing that will prevent Trump from doing everything in his power to remain president in 2029 is his death. He’s not leaving willingly. Have you not been paying attention?

We can do it the easy way or the hard way, but make no mistake, he's finished being president come January 20, 2029.

He heard about no elections during wartime when trying to vilify Zelenskyy, and now he wants to fight everyone.

I had not considered this. Very plausible.

This is where I'm at.

Does that mean we get a Jan 6 redux? Maybe. But either way, power will be passed.

This assumes we still exist in our current form in four years. That seems doubtful.
