The damage he is - single-handedly - doing not just to the US economy but to markets and economies the world over…is approaching “act of war” levels. Rapidly.
We are entering WWIII…and it’s a primarily economic war (to start) being waged by the US vs…everyone else on earth (except Russia and North Korea).
The rest of the world is literally under attack by the US. And they will respond. He’s leaving them little choice. Things like expelling US citizens, seizing US assets…those are going to have to be on the table.
This is madness. Seriously, it’s not much less deranged than if he launched a nuke somewhere.

Republicans in Congress. Let's be specific.

Pot's getting hot for Rs.  Until now, hitching yourself to Trump was the quickest/easiest way to get elected.  That's the source of all his power.

Trump might have burned himself and them.

Ackman, Musk, Chamath, Vivek and a few other billionaires hitched their wagon to Trump because they saw how he was able to manipulate the "poorly educated." Democrats are also to blame for creating this monster. The party was leaning too far left and ran a terrible campaign.

If the country survives until the midterms, there will be a reckoning for the MAGA candidates though. I hope we survive that long.

Yeah, they were falsely painted as too liberal for positions they had not advocated during the campaign, or even during Biden's administration.  Except the immigration thing.  That one hurt them.

The way I interpret this is: she was a black-Indian woman.

Her message was positive, her rallies energetic. Walz was a great pick. Her policies would have put money in the hands of consumers and first time buyers in homes. If you did not vote for her, YOU are to blame, not the party that voted for Harris.

I reluctantly voted for her because I knew the alternative would be terrible for the country. The country isn't ready for a black Indian woman to be the president and Biden didn't do her any favors by waiting till the 11th hour to pull his candidacy. Democrats were too rocky or they were content with conceding the election for whatever reason.

No, not except immigration. One of the first things Harris did as VP was go on national television and tell immigrants not to come, Biden ramped up deportations, and the Dems negotiated an extremely conservative immigration bill that had the most racist republicans in Congress salivating before Trump ordered them to kill it.

That's the part of the post you found most interesting?  How about the whole "I reluctantly voted for her because I knew Trump would be worse."  Congrats, he might not get a complete F in common sense, now show the work explaining why the Harris platform was so shitty, the only reason the lever got pulled for her was because Trump was the other option.

Reluctantly? How fucking stupid are you? It wasn’t a hard decision if you have a modicum of intelligence.

Of course it mattered. America's been racist and backward for centuries.

Correct. To ignore that reality was the mistake the dems made. They would have won easily if the candidate was a white Christian male. This election was too important to gamble with the deep rooted racism in our country.

Kamala was serviceable. Inflation was coming in and macro was stabilizing. Would have done a fine job just driving the bus and we'd all be chilling right now.

Yes, reluctantly because 1) my vote doesn't matter because I live in California, and 2) I knew she didn't do enough to win. I normally don't vote in the presidential elections because California doesn't  matter in our stupid electoral system, but this time I did.

I didn't like kamala as a candidate and still just bought in and enthusiastically voted for her. I knew she wouldn't be a train wreck and the thing that would piss me off the most about her is that she actually didn't get anything done except a few key things. She would have been a boring pick with extremely competent people around her.

That isn't to discount the elephant in the room of the national debt, and the doom spiral that loomed, but there would have been a less catastrophic approach.

Some of you need to read this post and wake up a bit. A lot of people want to come here and voice their frustrations, they may be different than yours, but hostility really takes away the conversation and turns things into an echo chamber.

Now let's get ready for this meltdown in 9 1/2 hours
