Glad to hear he is doing better.

Not to be @Thatguy, but be very, very careful with anyone online soliciting money. There are a ton of online donation scams out there.

It's on his IG. That's the best I can do on vetting it. I'm not fond of posting GoFundMe links. I don't know how to make more certain that it's legit.

Edit: if someone has a way to contact him directly that would be great

So the NFL PA retiree medical is nonexistent or shit?

Idk but he made 18 million in his career, needing 50k seems a bit odd.  Didn’t seem like a blow all his money guy.

I think it's only available for 5 years after retirement for vested players, which Melton was. Vesting takes 3 years and he played 6, but he does get a pension as well as his earnings.

Not to mention the passive-aggressive tone of the original Facebook post is kinda weird.

Wow, just read it. The last paragraph is weird, for sure. Not a great way to inspire people to donate.

Man I totally forgot he had a little NFL career at DT.

You would think he would have some money left.

The speed option left toss with a freshman Melton against tOSU on 4th down seemed high risk...still think he crossed the plane...but didn't matter...but what wild call given the situation.

Gave him a jello shot one time when he came over to the house in college, so doesnt hit that close to home?

I had shots with him while he was in high school at my friends house and played whirley ball with him in Dallas while he was at UT...and I'm 60 years old LOL!
