Man, that is too bad. RIP JJJ

Dang, for a moment there I thought I had died.

In all seriousness, I saw that guy play a few times.  He was fun to watch.  (Well, not when they beat us.)

Wow. My friend’s uncle was one of his HS coaches at Lamar. We drove up a few times to see him play. I’m just slightly older than him, so it was cool at the time to be back in a locker room after a game.

When he was at Baylor, the same friend’s dad was a prof there, so I saw him play 5-6 more times in Waco, including the infamous game against us in 92.

RIP

The only guys I remember playing against us in 92 had striped shirts.

He came and spoke at our elementary school back in the early 90s. He was quite the deal in Arlington. He went to our rival high school. Looking back on it, he was definitely railing my homeroom teacher. She’s the one that got him to come and talk. Seemed like a great dude. Teacher probably loved getting railed by him.

The first thing I thought of when I read this was the reverse play Baylor used to run with he and Melvin Bonner.  Joe would take the snap turn left or right, stand like a statue and just casually 'flick' the ball to Bonner as he passed by.

54... geez.
