After viewing many posts on the holy shit thread from many who suffer from claustrophobia I thought an entire thread for it may be necessary.

My symptoms:

Can't stand to be strapped to anything unless it's a rollercoaster or a car seatbelt.

I can't wear any watches or jewelry either. Anything that's tied onto my person which I feel I can't remove in an instant.

Planes? Lol fuck all that. It takes a serious dose of Xanax. Before I was aware of what was actually happening I'd just get drunk as fuck before flying.

Movie theaters. I always have to sit on the aisle closest to an exit. With assigned seating I'll buy the seat next to me so no one is sitting there.

I'm good at open air stadiums as mentioned before.

My brain goes into overdrive if I'm in a situation I can't escape from.

Hopefully this becomes a support forum for us.

I do expect the oncoming surly ridicule.

Funny thing, when I was a little kid, I suffered from allergy and exercise induced asthma, particularly in the cold.

I also really hated being dogpiled playing playground football or any other activity where people piled on you.  It wasn't because it hurt, I couldn't really explain why, but I hated it.

I could hold my breath underwater fairly well, but when the oxygen started to deplete,  I would get irrationally panicky, even if the surface was just a foot or two away.

As I aged, the asthma diminished, and so did the panickiness when out of breath, but not completely.

At some point as an adult, a doctor asked me/pointed out that asthmatics often suffer from claustrophobia.

I never thought I was claustrophobic until I had a MRI. Before I went in, the tech warned me to just keep my eyes closed and relax. After a couple of minutes of being in the tube, I opened my eyes. Fuck that shit. I closed them back tight and spent the next 30 minutes fighting off the urge rip out the IV from my arm and bang my way out of there.

During my last one without sedation I was given a couple of Valium. My mind was good but my body broke out into cold sweats, and M

My eyes went wide with terror, but I didn't feel it. There's something deep within in the reptilian part of our brains we just just don't have any control over.

I completely relate MIA.

Which is why I used to marvel at the reaction of our oldest when she was a youngster. Wrestling with dad is fun, but she liked nothing more than when I would wrap her in my arms so that she couldn’t move. She’d laugh, and laugh, and wait for me to tell her that I was never letting her go. That was the ultimate giggle trigger. Me? When I was that age, those moments were the worst.

Damn MIA, you're actually worse than I am.

I can handle enclosed spaces somewhat but only if I conceivably (in my mind at least) have a way to get out.  I could hide in a closet (insert nttawwt here) indefinitely but if you lock it I'm going ballistic.  But for some reason I can handle planes- don't love being stuck in a big metal tube with dozens of people but for some reason I tolerate it.

I've never had a cast but I imagine that would trigger it too.  I suspect that I would also freak out at getting cuffed or thrown in a jail cell.  Ok, I know that last one for a fact.

I had to do MRI a few years ago and told them you're either going to have to give me general anesthesia, or find an open donut MRI.  Fortunately found the latter.

My asshole biological father would do the same to me with different results. Then when he knew it drove me crazy that only encouraged that cunt to do it again and again.

I think I'm onto something here.

How about I tie you up and put you in my sex dungeon for a month.

Damn, look at Mr. Moneybags here.  Most of us can't afford to excavate a basement because of all the fucking Central Texas rock, and instead we are stuck with a sex crawlspace.

Friend of mine wants to inquire about your rates for that?
