ESPN computers have us favored. 62% of victory

Not sure I put too much stock in that, though. We’d be about 11-5 in conference play if we won when the ESPN computers favored us

Yeah I was going to comment that I don't think the ESPN prediction machine has been watching Texas play. Vegas has, of course. Implied odds of +2.5 would be about 45% to win. Not sure I even like Texas that much.

Texas: Finally healthy at end of season

All 11 Longhorns who have seen regular minutes this season played Saturday against Oklahoma, which marked just the second time this season that Texas coach Rodney Terry has had his full complement of players.

Vanderbilt: Injuries mounting late in season

The Commodores, who beat Texas 86-78 on Feb. 5 in Nashville, are enduring their own spate of injuries at an inopportune time. They’ve dropped their last two games against Arkansas and Georgia and had just eight available players Saturday against Georgia. Guards MJ Collins and Grant Huffman are both questionable against Texas entering Tuesday evening’s mandated SEC injury report. The loss of Collins would particularly sting; the junior has averaged 11 points over the past three games.

it will likely boil down to number and difficulty of shots from Tre (and using him as a decoy when he's double-teamed) versus number of layups and easy putbacks we allow.  If we get Tre some easy / open looks and play B+ level defense, we have a chance.  If Tre has to shoot 10-20 fade away long jumpers while double-teamed, more of the same foul basketball.

We are NIT bound absent a switch flipping and us running the table or coming really close in the SEC tournament....

All they really need to do is win 9 games in a row, and they are National Champions!  If I my lazy ass math guess was right.

It would be sort of fun to beat both Vandy and A&M.

I've watched probably 80% of the games this season.  Today is my birthday and as a gift to myself, I think I'm going to skip this one. It's so exhausting.

This team isn't playing in the NIT. If (read: when) Texas misses the tournament and RT is fired, Texas won't accept an invite.

I’m going to the opening rounds in milwaukee next week so I’m going to hold out hope we somehow make the tournament and get sent there

I’m expecting the usual though. Down 15-20 in the 1st half, make a run in the 2nd half, lose by 5-10. The RT Special

Dan Shulman and Jay Bilas

Bilas is usually good for roasting shitty offense when he sees it

Wasn't Bilas one of the ones pushing for Terry to be hired originally back in 2023? My bet is at some point during the game, he will try to defend Terry and say schools are moving off coaches too quickly or some nonsense.

Stop pushing him on us

Yes, and weirdly enough, one of the other major writers who was pimping Terry (Jeff Goodman) had a tweet this morning that said sometimes the best thing to do in a coaching carousel where a bunch of coaches are let go is to not make a move at all.

Goodman is Beard's mouthpiece (and I'm sure the mouthpiece for other coaches too).

I dont think CDC is trying to upgrade from 6-12 in the SEC to 8-10 in the SEC

Probably 10. 4 SECT and a tourney win likely gets Texas into the last 4 byes.

If Duke was this bad over 2 years guessing he wouldn't say that.

What a shame. We should be honored to step into the same fiery crucible that forged the legend of Julian Larry and Jayson Kent.

This team really has no idea how to space the floor and drive to the rim. Vanderbilt is putting on an execution of off ball movement leading to layups and fouls.

That was the worst fucking bounce pass I've seen all season. Just throw it into the 12th row next time.

Then - instead of giving Tre the mismatch - Larry drags his man past him so Vandy can switch back.

Dude is showing you how not to play point guard.

You know if I had a bookie I might actually take Texas +2.5.  I think they take Vandy.  But there is a reason that I don't bet anymore.

Texas -12,  final score UCLA 66 - Texas 3...  that was painful.

So I might as well go out bold. Win today over Vandy, and then the upset of A&M.  I also predict Tre gets at least two buckets in this game!

oops typed that befoer I realized the game was already on...

Big speech on taking it to the hole, first shot coming back out is a 3 in transition.
