Congrats to everyone who made it to the second weekend! I don't know if we've ever had this many players make it through the first-week gauntlet. Just a couple of reminders:

1) Thursday and Friday are like normal. Pick one winner, move on if you're right.
2) For the Elite Eight games on Saturday/Sunday, you need to pick two winners, but it doesn't have to be one on Saturday and one on Sunday. I'm not sure how this new site will count this, but someone who goes 1-1 on Saturday/Sunday will advance over someone who went 0-2. And obviously, someone who goes 2-0 would advance over someone who went 1-1.
3) If all remaining players go out in the same round (or have the same record for the Elite Eight games), those that went out in that last round will stay alive and move on. To win, you have to be the last man standing at the end of a round.

Now it's starting to get interesting.

I had to burn my first 1 seed yesterday on Duke. I didn't feel great about any of the other games (Iowa St was my 2nd choice) and figured I'd just try to hang on. But now for Thursday, Duke feels like the only safe pick and is the largest favorite at -9.5.

How many entries made it to the Elite Eight last year? @HornOnTheBayou

Man I came really close to using Arkansas tonight but in the end had to bet on Alabama vs a bunch of 26 year old white boys (insert ‘A little racist” GIF here). Gets really interesting now; this shit is a lot harder the longer chalk prevails…

With so many of us left, it’s getting to be tough choosing the highest confident pick vs mapping out a route to the final…I’m probably screwing the pooch today with my strategy.

This is the day it ended last year (I remember being drunk at a good Catholic Good Friday celebration).  Mostly chalk bracket will get this. Strategies will be tested...

I chose MSU so I could have 4 1 seeds left at my disposal…oops (so far)

Your strategy looks better than mine at this point. I'm going to run out of teams left to pick from if today stays chalky.

Now the challenge for those of us with abundant resources is gaming it out backwards from a champ pick vs using them early and trying to survive. Looks like a few of yall don’t have that luxury and are going to run out of teams to choose from soon!

I want to thank Florida for pulling that out. With four minutes left, I found myself trying to figure out if I should change my picks since I already chose Tech in a earlier round. It is too late on a Saturday to do all of that math.

I am in a different one of these (just one is enough for me!) so it's entirely possible that my settings are different, but I would double check your league settings to confirm whether the bolded section is accurate.

I suspect that it's still "miss one and you're done" but if nobody goes 2-0 in the E8, then (and only then) everyone who goes 1-1 would get revived. And the only way someone who goes 0-2 in the E8 is revived is if everyone goes 0-2.

I think we're saying the same thing. If anyone goes 2-0 today, they move on and everyone who went 1-1 is out. If no one goes 2-0, then everyone who went 1-1 is revived and moves on. Since some people already have 1 win this weekend, anyone who goes 0-2 is definitely out.

If Auburn finishes off MSU, I will have made it to the final four but have no chance of winning. Out of teams that I can pick. Interesting tournament. Good luck to the last guys standing who have been more strategic.
