So, the wind will direct this fire toward Fredericksburg?

I’d think to the East, but I’m not sure.

Wind is from the west now but about to start coming from the NW. Looks like Fburg should still be ok though imho.

To add.

3-15-25 500pm - Lindner

Dangerous wildfire continues to rapidly expand eastward north of Fredericksburg and south of Willow City. Fire has jumped Hwy 16 and is burning rapidly toward FM 1631.

Residents on the west side of FM 1631 should evacuate immediately.

The fire continues to exhibit extreme behavior with extensive crowning in cedar stands and heavy brush…ground and air resources have been unable to stop forward progress due to strong winds and humidity less than 15%.

Numerous fire departments from multiple counties are working this fire as well as TFS air resources.

Downstream smoke plume is noted as far east as Austin and Bastrop.

Is that why I smell smoke in south Austin, or are the neighbors just having a good time?

Man I dont smell anything but did see the sky get dark in the west. I was even just at Cosmic on Pickle Rd and didn't smell smoke. 🥲

Hope yall stay safe out there.

This is our horrifying new reality and I’m truly scared about what’s coming.

Yep. We are ripe for it. At least the winds have died down

I was out on my bike earlier this afternoon for a ride. the difference in smoke/air quality from when I started til when i finished was noticeable.  I was actually surprised the fire wasnt closer to town when I checked online to see what was burning.

I have relatives over and they're watching some shitty tv melodrama but it's literally smokey in here and my allergies are acting up

Right. Those tears have nothing to do with hard working city girl Janet going back to her small hometown and finding love with her high school boyfriend.

Given the gravity, not a time to joke or point fingers, but I gotta wonder where Iceman is today.

Back in Amarillo.  We in the shit too.  Any time the wind blows, really.

It's a reality of where we live.
