admit I was wrong about all our Q1 wins being in SEC being a problem.  and it is apparent score differential doesn't matter for conference games.

Our NET was high against the bubble teams' NET so that probably helped some.

All this has taught me is that Lunardi is really bad at his job.

It's insane he's some authority on this when he's ranked #118 in bracketmatrix. He's terrible.

Expand

To be fair, he’s always been bad. But we were only in less than 35 brackets on bracketmatrix, period.

He had some other bad misses like Indiana.

It was clear the top 2 bubble teams were Texas and Xavier based on the metrics. Then San Diego State. Somehow he had Indiana seeded above 2 of those and he even said he was close to seeding Indiana over SDSU too.

Chalk is Duke and Florida. The latter is the best team in the country right now. Outstanding trio of guards, any of which can take a game over, height, depth and a defensive presence that was non-existent last season.

Walter Clayton is the best player in college basketball right now. Most of you have never heard of him. You will soon.

Wrong, we were in roughly 45-50% depending on what time you looked today.

UH is pretty hard to pick against.

Offenses that are solely perimeter-oriented don't last throughout. I absolutely love Houston but they don't have much offensive presence inside. You need to be able to score from 5 feet in when scoring from 22 feet out isn't working. That's my concern.

All that said Houston's defense will keep it / win most every game. It playing in San Antonio is more likely than not.

My thought is that they want to give equal rest to all First Four teams, so if Texas is in the Friday/Sunday pod they have to play Wednesday.

Expand

That was my thought too, but both First Four 11 seed winners are playing in Milwaukee on Friday

So whoever wins the UNC game gets an extra day of rest vs whoever wins the Texas game

I assume UNC/SDSU winner will play in the early session in milwaukee and Friday and the Texas/Xavier will play in the later session but who knows until the NCAA announces it?

aggy's region might be the juiciest.

A&M vs Yale and Michigan vs UC San Diego have potential for upsets. Both of those low seeded teams are really good.

All the pundits I was listening to were saying that Yale was gonna upset poor Aggies.

About 8-10mins in Lunardi appeared on this show -- just rewind since it's currently live.

Lunardi pissed about UNC getting in...

Yeah, aggy 3 point defense is pretty suspect at times and Yale is one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the country.

The problem for Yale is they have no size so they will probably get killed on the boards.

Who follows college basketball at all that hasn’t heard of Walter Clayton?

There is one reason we got in and that is Tre Johnson. They wanted him in the tourney.

I believe the 7 quad wins got us in even when some of the players were injured.  So we won with some of the guys we had, team effort. Glad the guys get a chance to dance.💃🕺

I would think this was the case, but then what about North Carolina?

I think they got in on their name and history.

Having Tre Johnson on the team didn't hurt and might have been just the little extra needed to get in.

Thankfully that unbridled weirdo Gus Johnson will be nowhere near a mic, again, for the Tournament. He's become a beating.

Overall, CBS / Turner have quality personnel working the telecasts. I think Harlan is the best in the business on pxp but he can get a little sideways, for the good. But the suits prefer Eagle for the final Saturday / Monday. He's quality. Grant Hill continues to provide nothing to broadcasts.

Brian Anderson is especially good on pxp.

Aggy is a hot and cold team but their rebounding is going to be what gets them a win, most likely. They may shoot like crap, but they will likely get 15+ more shots than Yale

I thought size would be a major issue for Yale but per T-Rank Yale is #23 in defensive rebounding percentage. So despite their size issues, they rebound the ball really well on the defensive end.

Yeah, I can see why Yale over aggy is a sexy upset pick.

aggy's strength is offensive rebounding and Yale is a good defensive rebounding team. Also, aggy's weakness at times is defending the 3 and Yale is one of the best 3 point shooting teams in the country.

yo, we need two more for the seeded tourney draft, it’s super fun, makes MM that much more interesting, so come on down:

brass tacks: 8 of us have a snake draft of tourney teams. the lower the seed, the more points you get each time they win. it’s that simple. let’s do this!

Okay, WVU being left out for UNC is a travesty, yes. Is it “let’s litigate this and sue” type of a travesty? No, aboselutly not. Neither WVU nor UNC were in the running for the NC.
