Jose Ramirez just set up Jose Soriano in to giving up a gopher ball.

swings over a breaking ball that almost hits him in the back foot. Nods his head like “I ain’t hitting that.” O’Hoppe/Soriano agree on the same pitch.
leaves it over the middle of the plate just below the zone. And Ramirez leaves it over the right field wall.

i love a good cat and mouse game

Rockies-A's heading to the 11th with the snow still coming down.  They apparently have heating coils under the field, so the snow's not piling up, but holy shit I question the sanity of anyone at this game.  I'm going Thursday when it's supposed to be temps in the 80s.

Don’t worry the Rockies found a way to give up 3 in the top of the 11th and lose.

The Rockies have 14 runs in 7 games and Kris Bryant has driven none of them in.

The Dodgers actually lost?!? I assume everyone in their starting lineup missed the game due to gigantism, a bar fight, getting arrested for unsolved murders in New York ("You don't know when to keep your mouth shut, do you, Saxy-boy"), not shaving their side burns, and shit, I can't remember the others.

Did the Pirates fuck up by changing the sign? Roberto Clemente's son thinks so:

"Yesterday, I was shocked to learn that the Clemente 21 sign—a tribute to my father on the right field wall at PNC Park in Pittsburgh—had been removed and replaced by an advertisement. This change was made without any communication or consultation with our family," Clemente Jr. wrote. "While we appreciate that the Pirates acknowledged their failure to inform us, it reveals a broader issue: a lack of meanginful collaboration between the organization and on matters that are deeply personal and historically significant to us and the fans.

"We have always been open to building a sincere and lasting partnership with the Pirates, one grounded in respect and shared values. Our hope is that this moment serves as an opportunity for reflection, paving the way for a more thoughtful, transparent, and collaborative relationship moving forward.

"I intend to reach out to the Pirates directly to explore this further."

The dude is a legendary representative of the Pittsburgh franchise and commitment to humanity in general.  How could that ever happen?

Ol' boy Devers seems to be just fine in the DH spot now.

Rumors are Papi called him and said um. Your age? In Boston? STFU. You got how many years and how many million? Remember where you came from.

This comes from Dominican sports, not NE fanboy, texaggs shit.

Not that they have played very often but, I thought this was funny. The Pirates had a walk-off single yesterday to beat the Yankees and it was the first walk-off for the Pirates against the Yankees since Maz in the 1960 World Series.

It's such a piss-poor run franchise. We have one of the top ballparks but a AAA team has been trotted out since 1992.

I'd rather go see The Bingo Long Traveling All-Stars & Motor Kings.

Someone will regret that contract and it's not gonna be Vlad

What's the worst thing that can happen giving a 15 year contract to a 26 year old dude that is ~6'0 and already weighs 250 lbs.

Cecil Fielder basically ate his way out of the league at 33.

Today the Yankees learned that torpedo bats are ineffective in snowy Detroit weather.

They should be awesome in the rain.
