Bryant is Colorado’s highest-paid player this season with a $27 million salary. He has yet to appear in the field in 2025, with all 10 of his starts coming at designated hitter.

In the offseason, Bryant told The Denver Post that he was “at peace” with the progress he was experiencing in his quest to get healthy entering 2025. But that quest clearly hit another roadblock early in this season, continuing the trend of unavailability that’s underscored his time with the club over the last three years. So far in his Rockies tenure, he’s only played in about one-third of the club’s games.

With Bryant back on the IL, Black told MLB.com on Monday at Dodger Stadium ahead of the series opener against Los Angeles that he expects Bryant to return to the club after 10 days, but that the training staff will need to continue to monitor Bryant’s back going forward.

“A lot of players, especially at this point in their career, have to manage certain things in their body,” Black said.

If the Rockies do decide at some point to cut Bryant, they would owe him the rest of his guaranteed contract, which has three years and $81 million left on it following the 2025 season.

Cut him and move on. Hate this franchise. Can’t even lose the right way - they scored three runs in LA last night to break the scoreless innings streak at 32.

Was getting annoyed at all the exaggerated Rockies talk on here. Looked at the standings today, damn they really are uniquely bad. Also lulzed at the Tigers, Yankees, and Rays being the only 3 AL teams with a positive run differential. This sport is broken.

Jason Grilli used his MLB lifetime pass to take his son to see Paul Skenes pitch. Every MLB player with 8 years of service time (and front office staff with 25 years) gets a lifetime pass. You just go to the ticket counter, and they give you the best seats available.

Other news, Juan Soto FAFO and already regrets being a Met. Unbelievable how stupid he/Boras were

15 years, $765 mil.  Not sure how "dumb" I would call that.

There was an E60 show earlier today about one of the hostages at the US Embassy in Iran(Barry Rosen) that he and others received a Golden Ticket for MLB games thanks to Bud Selig recommending to Kuhn.

This is the Rockies thread now, and you’re gonna like it.

So I asked what we should do the Friday night I’m out there (we’re going to Dodgers v Sox at Fenway the last weekend of July as he’s stuck out there all summer).  He said “why don’t we go to the Dodgers/Sox Friday too?  Better chance of seeing a win.”  I like the way that kid thinks. Done.  I’ve done Boston before, and he lives there.  We don’t need to do touristy stuff.  When we were there a few years ago touring Northeastern, they all went to a museum while I went to Fenway and walked the perimeter.  Bucket list for me.

Damn, awful stat.  Miller, Knack and Wrobleski all called up from Triple A.  Combined 16 2/3 innings, 21 earned runs.  We’ll really need all those arms we thought we had to start the season.  BTW, Kersh had 3 scoreless in his tuneup at AAA yesterday.

Brendan Donovan attempting to play SS is comical.

Cardinals look pretty solid for a 9-9 team. They lead the league in BA and when they give up on Contreras they are the only lineup in baseball without any holes

BR has them at 0.1 odds to win the WS. Seems like decent value

The move from behind the plate has not been good to him. He looks alot like Jose Abreu did two years ago, although Abreu was 3 years older than Willson is now.

I agree they'll continue to run him out there
