All the usual items checked... power cord, tiny light is ON for the transformer box, light comes on for the keyboard when the power button is pressed...
I have a. depreceation invoice to send to insurance.  How F'd am I?

This does not have a removable battery. Is my internal power supply Borked?

I mean, it's not like I can afford a new notebook & my last document backup to the external HD was probably 6 months ago.

Non removable batteries should be banned.  I’m no expert, but I enjoy trying to fix things.  Here is what I’d do:

1) Sounds like you have important “files” (sex vids) you wanna get?  Pull the HD and get the cable and software you need to copy all that info.

2) Find the Batt’twschree and unhook it.  Unhook power supply.  Hold the power button down for 10 seconds.  You want to get all the capacitors and circuits totally dead.

Reconnect power.  Leave Batt’tschree unhooked.  Try to power up.  If no work, unhook power, hook batt’tschree up and try again.

How old is this laptop?  If it’s >5 yo, even if you get it going, I suggest you replace it.  Life’s too short.

And for God’s sake use an auto backup.  Google Drive is my preferred.  Less glitchy than OneDrive.

Could be any number of things. How long have you left it charging before trying to power on? Does the screen do anything when you power on? And are you sure you've turned it completely off?

This reminds me of the old vaudeville joke:

what has two thumbs and a computer that powers on?

Not me.

Is there power coming into your house?

No.  I cannot afford the hamster food & they won't turn the wheel to generate electricity.
