For the youngsters who don't get this ⬆

The best thing about that play was that Stafford FINALLY had to throw the ball downfield.

He spent the whole day throwing hitches and to the flats.

Dude I wasn't kidding, I legit went to bed. I couldn't help myself and checked the score and saw it was 72-69 and got my ass back up

It would have been more awesome if you hadn’t checked the score and then woken up to realize you missed an epic comeback. The mocking would have been out of this world. 🤣

It almost happened, I almost fell asleep and then the urge to check the score won out.

When piggy lost all I could think was fuck piggy and the SEC. I probably would think fuck Tech and the BIG XII had it gone the other way. The final outcome was always going to be some version of joy.

I’m proud that conference affiliation didn’t even pop into my head (beyond a fleeting thought that at times, the SWC was a salty little conference).

I went with: Tech, slightly annoying though they can be, and despite their football coach’s unfortunate adventure into the Big Boy Fast Lane two years ago…they at least have a strategy and purpose-driven benefactors, and generally realistic expectations for their athletic program (though sometimes they hide it well haha).

Then you have Arkansas…one of the three prongs of the Devil’s trident and a legacy member of the Axis of Evil. So fuck them. Forever and in everything.

I'd feel the same about McCasland as I do Miller.... McCasland >> RT, decent hire but  I hoped for better. Don't get me wrong, the lulz factor from  stealing another Tech hoops coach would have been fantastic, but his tourney achievements to date are OK, not great.

2021 (13 seed) - Won vs 4 seed, Lost vs 5 seed
2024 (6 seed) - Lost vs 11 seed
2025 (4 seed) - Won vs 14 seed, Won vs 11 seed, Won vs 10 seed

A trip to the elite 8 is nice, but its not like Miller doesnt have a few of those, including taking Xavier there in his 4th year.

2021 - North Texas...as you state, that 13 seed beat the 4 seed.  But that 13 seed was North Texas, whose only modicum of success prior to this was years ago under Johnny Jones, and they never had any postseason tournament wins with him.

You left out 2023 - Won the NIT Championship at North Texas.  North Texas.  This is an underrated accomplishment because UNT just doesn't support the basketball program at all.

2024 - That 11 seed he lost to went to the Final Four

2025 - Elite Eight (so far) with basically a 6-7 man rotation

I think he's a good coach, I just don't think his career achievements to date differentiate him from Miller. If he wins the national championship this year, my thoughts would likely change, and we'll keep him in mind if we have another opening.  The NIT of today means nothing to me, sorry. I didnt give a shit when Texas won it under Shaka.

White guy from Ole Miss (1) Traveled (2) Dribbled once (3) Traveled again…

Then shot the ball and made it and the announcers loved it… and the red did not call it.

Traveling has become completely arbitrary. It is like OL holding. Whenever the refs want to affect the game, they can either call it or not, but the actual rules don’t matter anymore
