GOLL isn't wrong here.  On another thread, I shared how a few weeks ago, I was heading in to HEB, and a woman parked in TWO spaces (near the front of the store).  That is, two side-by-side spaces were open, and she just pulled in and parked on top of the line, taking up the spaces so nobody else could park there.  I was walking by as she got out of her car, and I said "No, you can't do that.  You need to move your car and park in only one space."  She looked surprised, gave me some "oh, I didn't know" line of bullshit....and I stood there as she re-parked correctly.

It was really easy to call her out and hold her accountable.  She was doing something selfish/self-absorbed and shitty, and seeing it happen right in front of me pissed me off, so I said something, and she changed her behavior.  I've also had a little punk driving his rice rocket the wrong way up the aisle at HEB flip me off and yell at me when I said "dude, you're going the wrong way."  So, the mileage may vary.

Did you call her a pig parker?

I will never forget the time I was in Channelview  Kroger and this bitch had her nasty ass cat and it's pillow in her cart. As she was getting dirty looks, she starts trying to explain how sick it is and is afraid to leave it alone.

If the cat is that sick, it doesn't belong in a damn grocery store, you nasty bitch.

I just left my cart with whatever was it and walked out. Because I knew damn well the employees saw her come in. This particular store has the register and service desk right when you walk in. Never been back to that store.

Do you know how many sick people are wandering around the store at any given moment?

That's part of society.

But I didn't sign up to be around some nasty ass cat with aids.

This is on everyone who is too fucking afraid of confrontation to call out bad behavior.

yeah, i’m not sure if you’re posting from antarctica, but where i’m from people get shot to death every single day over the tiniest of disagreements. i’m not confronting any of you psychos whom i encounter in the wild, im gonna stay in my lane and let you fuck around and find out.

Of course, you're from Pflugerville. The most dangerous town in America. Every day, someone gets taken out.

Would you have done the same thing if it was some muscled up meathead in a jacked up truck with truck nuts hanging from the trailer hitch? It’s easy to confront people that don’t pose a risk to a physical escalation.

In a wide open parking lot with lots of people walking by and witnessing?  Yeah, I really might have.

I do freely admit that my old man pissed-offedness may be increasingly impairing my judgment and give-a-fuck levels, though.

Yesterday a kid was stabbed in the heart for confronting someone about moving/being in the wrong place at a track meet in Frisco, Texas.

I think Derka has a point and it's the similiar point I made with my kids as they were sowing their wild oats-- you never know what kind of pscyho or loser with nothing else to lose the other person is you might confront or who is having road rage or wants to fight. Be the bigger man and walk away (or look away).

Better just to point out that the meathead has a small dick and is trying to compensate for it.

Ahh yes, Pflugerville, it's like one of those tiny villages of less than 500 people in those British crime dramas, where 30-50 people are killed every year.

I think I am going to start carrying pepper spray and randomly spray people's dogs at HEB.

I know you are kidding and I’m no lawyer, but I would be there is a law and criminal repercussions for that. Unless you can say you felt physically threatened of course.

The State of Texas needs to step in and require all service dogs to be verified, and the owner issued a "this is a legit service dog" card for identification, complete with a picture and description of the dog. Make it cheap or free. It sucks that owners of true service dogs would have to take the time to go through the verification process, but this is the very definition of why we can't have nice things.

CHIEF

Nope. the disabilities thing that creates service dogs is a federal law, and besides, you're talking like there's a functioning state government in Texas.

I don't travel much internationally, but I am curious if the dog culture here happens in Europe or elsewhere.

My daughter lives in Milan and she said dogs are everywhere there -- nice restaurants, etc.  She said that she went into a Foot Locker and there were 7 dogs in there.  Said they're generally much more poorly behaved than in the US.

This writer got away with taking a turtle to fancy restaurant, a llama into a bodega, and a pig on a plane. All by claiming they were "support animals" by getting a bullshit certificate from some shady online "psychologists".

and i didn't used it once and ended up giving it away. turns out i am not one of those 'take your dog everywhere' people lol. we do take him to explicitly dog-friendly places though... why not, he brings joy to people.

but 6he has freaking loved his playpen since day one and gets excited when we bring it out, basically begs to get in it lol

we have a camera on him and are comfortable leaving him 6-7 hours at a time. i mean he basically just sleeps anyway.

and yes, i have used this thread as an opportunity to post pics. you're welcome. 😊
