Ugh. Sorry I stayed up for that outcome here on the East Coast. But my fault for getting lured in. This offense has so little margin for error that a lot of nights figure to end up like this.

Wesneski pitches great and gives you 7, and we actually have clutch late inning offense and then still blow it.

it really is going to be a shitty year

I think letting Bregman walk is going to be Crane's biggest mistake so far.

I’m trying to understand how this bullpen is expected to hold up over the season. We don’t appear to have reliable options outside of Hader, Abreu, and maybe Okert. I guess the hope is that we get more help from arms getting healthy?

I think the bullpen will be fine, the problem is the lineup.

That's funny, I feel better about the lineup than the bullpen.

The bullpen will always be a problem because our manager is a moron with his management of it.

That is an issue

Same, I think we’re a bat short.

Starter depth is also an issue, but that’s always a concern.

This team is not built to win, if we are honest with each other and stop sunshine pumping and wishful thinking, it’s not even built to compete. It sucks seeing Bregman & Tucker with great early starts. 2025 Stros are starting to look like a bunch of guys just cashing checks. I put that on the manager. Just a terrible product on the field. I despise bad baseball, poor play and horrible decision making.
Heads up…Crane is going to go ultra cheap on the next manager prepare yourselves!!!!

oh and btw those city connects are cursed and they look Like something a teenager would wear working at the mall in the 80’s selling orange whips!

We're 29th in runs scored and OPS but yeah it's the bullpen and the manager that are the problem.

C'mon now.

They can all be a problem

Agree that we are a bat short from having a complete lineup.

Is that necessarily a problem?  Pay for field manager is probably related to experience and outside of a couple of managers, I doubt there’s sufficient experience to justify a premium.

I’d rather the money go to an outfielder.

FWIW, judging by the team hitting statistics and how offensively futile 2/3 of the hitters have been, 4-6 doesn’t look that bad.

Remember way back in the day back in 2023 when this group spent the money on a 1st baseman, do you trust them again and a “yes man” manager?

I think the bullpen is fine. Scott needs to be moved down in the pecking order. Bryan King was good last year and looks good again this year.

He looks like the 2024 Tayler Scott of this year's bullpen.

Contreras back up to take Arrighetti's spot on the roster.

Looking on the bright side of that freak injury, at least the injury was not an issue with his elbow or shoulder.

Damn, that's miserable.

The Lidge-Dotel-Wagner bullpen was so much damn fun.  RIP.

That was a GOAT bullpen monster

Damn, horrible.  RIP to a badass if true.  I'll have to redouble my efforts to work him into Immaculate grid whenever possible.

Like 3/4ths of the league will have a dedication to their former player

All kidding aside that sucks. RIP

It’s totally not appropriate but this is surly so….

i’d be lying if I said “why couldn’t that be Wander Franco’s name instead?” wasn’t the first or second thought that crossed my mind.

Who's taking his spot in the rotation?

Can't we technically make it the next 2 weeks on 4 man rotation with Thursdays off?

We can. It’s generally u like the Astros as they are more apt to go 6 man than 4 (even with time off) but it’s early enough maybe?
