I view today as a success.  Yes, we lost, but 3 runs is a big step in the right direction.  That's as many as the last 2 games combined.

I think the air in Daikin is too cold now.

Batting average:

Paredes .150

Alvarez .150

Walker .125

Diaz .111

Pena .105

Rodgers .167 (but way up from .000!)

Dezenzo .143 (also way up from .000!)

I'm aware of the stats but haven't watched any of the games. What's the general consensus on how various guys look out there? Old? Gimpy? Just not good enough? I didn't expect any great year, but I also didn't expect this anemic a start. Hopefully it's not who we really are.

To me, there’s no spark/no fire.  All those guys are gone.  I think it’s a bit of coaching too.  Hell, I think the Astros would have the same record right now with no coach.

I’m thinking it’s who we really are, and it’s sad.

Two seasons in a row where we come out of spring training, still in spring training mode. Maybe we should play our regulars more in the spring training.

Yes...unless they were to move the game for weather reasons.

They do this every season in Minnesota for the opener...they did it the Astros series I went in 23 and actually had to move the game to the Friday. That series went fucking spectacular....i think we only won Easter Sunday.

Is this new mattress mack deal that the astros have to win the next 10 after you buy a mattress or just 10 in a row anytime during the season?  Makes a big difference.

Anytime. But you have to have bought the bed first.

Altuve looks like he’s not washed.
I love Smith’s approach at the plate.
Paredes has very professional at bats.
taking anything offensively from 6 games of play is abject lunacy.

A completely rational take until you remember that fan is short for fanatic, sir…but I agree with you. Talk to me in May if we’re still scuffling, but until then I’ll just watch how a team with several new faces starts to gel.

You forgot that Whitley is thus far unhittable in 2025.

Two? Two?

Bro, this is like 8 in a row. Every April, like clockwork, Astrosworld bitches and moans about bats and not scoring runs in the first 25 games or so.

Every April I write a post about it being April.

Every September a division winner.

Chill, honey bunnies....

So what percentage of today's broadcast is going to be Kalas and Blumer being flirty with Julia about how cold she is?

At least 10 references to the "JMI", good news is she keeps getting hotter with age so I will enjoy it until it ends in the next year or so.

Man the MLB really knows how to f up its opening week of the season for anyone that has a day job. Thankfully it’s allowed me to miss most of this offensive abomination.

Thurs: day game. Opening day. I’ll own it if you want to claim I’m a bad fan for not making better plans to be at a place to watch from the first pitch.

Fri: night game exclusively on Apple TV

Sat: 6:15, FOX. Excellent

Sun: no game

Mon: evening game on RSN.
Tue: evening game on RSN. Finding a rhythm!

Wed: day game. Rhythm is dead

Thu: day game

Fri: no game
