Or what?

…or I’ll remind you that you shot less than 54% free throws and we shot over 92%

How can you claim your basketball superiority and that you should’ve won with a shit performance in the clutch like that?

Missing the front end of a couple crucial one and ones is not grounds for whining about you not going further into the tournament.

Take the loss, etc.

John Calipari gets a lot of grief for leaving some meat one the bone, but over the last 10 years, Duke has not won a national championship despite having:

– 36 5-stars

– 28 McDonald's All-Americans

– 18 first round picks

– 9 top-5 prospects

– 8 lottery picks

– 7 top-10 prospects

– 3 No. 1 prospects

– 2 No. 1 overall NBA Draft picks

I generally like him but, this is again one of those “nobody respected us” type comments. Houston is a #1 seed. They have been a top team all season. Everyone, here at least, has said they sure as hell could win the national title. Nobody is sleeping on Houston. Nobody.

The joke was also that UH was starting the game with foul trouble.  With regard to the Final Four, everyone was saying it was Duke's game to lose.  It played out that way too.

Folks were also saying the Big XII slipped back to the pack a bit.  It's a tough as hell conference.  It's going to continue to be that way too.  It's still mind-blowing that UH only lost one conference game, and it was even in OT.  I don't think Sampson is wrong to remind folks of that.

Houston W tonight I tie for first in one pool and win either $1400 (over 147) or $300 (under 147.5). Tie for 4th in a bigger pool and win $1400 if under 158 (and $0 if over).

Let's go Cougars!

Good luck to you!

If I cared about or needed money I'd bet $300-500 on the Florida ML as a hedge, but happily I don't need it so I'm just gonna let it ride on the Cougs.

Think it's more referring to the national media, which has had its tongue straight up Duke's ass and whatever SEC team was playing at the time for the whole tourney and thus basically ignored that side of the bracket assuming Duke was just going to waltz into the title game.

Yeah they've underachieved a bit but Duke has 5 EEs and 2 FFs (both in the last four seasons) since 2015. Kentucky has 2 EEs, 0 FFs and hasn't made it past the SS since 2019.

I get it. But, that stuff gets old. I don't think anyone on this site has talked smack about how good Houston is as a team. I've said all season I thought they were very good and could win the whole thing.

Yes, the media sucks ass. I wanted UCONN to beat South Carolina yesterday but, I had to side with the Gamecocks coach when she responded, a day before, to a reporter asking her about Paige and her legacy. Why the fuck would Staley care about Paige's legacy when Staley herself is building a damned good legacy herself?

Even though I wrote for 30 years I always hated sharing questions and always preferred to ask questions on my own, not in a gaggle.

I get ya but, nobody outside of Durham cares about how close they have gotten. And yes, I'm well aware my two teams haven't won shit.

Fuck both Duke & Cal at Kentucky.

Starting to get nervous about tonight.

Not sure I'm gonna make it to midnight or whenever they decided was a good time for tipoff.

Houston is going to bring a great crowd.

I've been clear I don't think y'all will beat Houston but I think it'll be a good game. I think your best hope is to get up early and hope Houston can't hit multiple kill shots (10-0 runs, they're the best at this in college basketball last time I looked). The main reason I'm taking Houston is their defense is just next level compared to pretty much anyone but Duke. Y'all have some killers so anything can happen, though.

I think we know what Houston will do, especially defensively.

For me, the key is what Florida did to AU with their rotation of big guys. Cardwell is not a scorer even though he doubled his average. They were able to wear down Broome, obviously not at 100%, and I think how they defended him was the difference.

Can Florida's big guys make it too difficult for Houston?

I think A game vs A game, Florida probably wins.

But we haven't brought our A game yet this tournament. Condon still is not 100% and our bigs have been starting soft.

The biggest advantage has been depth and their ability to take control later in the game.

Houston has the ability to slow the game down and are a very physical team. If the officiating we saw against Auburn happens again, Houston has a big advantage.

We'll see. Houston brings to the table basically a somewhat better version of what we do (Tech). They don't have quite the inside scoring we can bring but they defend better at every level and their guards are better than ours (overall). They can be vulnerable to shooters, though, which is how we got them in Houston earlier in the season.

GOAT center. Had a few years where he was the best offensive player and defensive player in the same season. No one’s close on combo steals and blocks in career. Best center in the decade of centers.

On topic: though I loved me Phi Slamma Jamma, I look down on UH for bleacher gate, Tilman Fertata, and general bush league behavior.

As much as I enjoyed seeing Duke lose, we missed out on a Duke / Florida shootout. And it messed up my near perfect bracket.

Olajuwon was in the top 10 in five categories: steals, rebounds, block shots, scoring, and shooting percentage

If you don't like the start time, just move a time zone west.

College football at 10am on Saturdays
Super Bowl Sunday at 4:30
CFP & March Madness title game - 6:30-7pm start times

Shortly after walking off stage on SNL, Morgan Wallen posted a photo to his Instagram Story of a private jet with the caption, “Get me to God's country .”

In Alaska in late September once and watched eastern time zone CFB kickoffs around 9:00 am.  Told my wife we got to move there.
