I literally joined hornfans to either make fun of Trev Alberts or to expose Aggie, it was one of those two, such a long time ago I don't really remember for sure, 20+ years later and it is  still relevant today

did something happen?

He got a coach who had no legitimate interest in coaching at aggy play him for a huge pay raise, after his former basketball coach bolted following one of aggy's most successful seasons in recent memory, which included a second round bump from the tournament, all while watching his desperation baseball hire race to the bottom of the SEC, and he's had a continuous burning sensation in his urethra since moving to College Station (that last part is probably, most likely true).

Beard was going to get a pay raise regardless. But A&M's interest allowed Beard to parlay that into a greater sense of urgency, and likely allowed Beard to negotiate a greater share of resources that otherwise probably would have gone to football.

He's still gone the first time a bigger job comes along. And eventually a bigger job is going to come along. Just not A&M. Poor Aggies.

So, it was a Wednesday at aggy.

Aggies just can’t understand that they’re not the bigger job. For anyone at a P4 school.

If Hubert Davis has anywhere near the season in 25/26 he had this season then Carolina would be insane not to fire him and do what to takes to hire Beard.

That would be outside the Carolina family, which they haven't done since Dean Smith retired.

But there isn't anyone obvious in the family tree that would be a good hire.  Guthridge and Davis were handpicked by legends and I think the university had to hire them.  Doherty seemed like a good hire at the time based on his success at ND.  Williams was a no brainer.  I can't think of a sitting legend or up and comer that has Carolina ties.  Maybe that allows them to look at Beard.

In the portal and NIL world conducting business like that will be the death of the program. Duke got lucky with Scheyer, but the odds UNC gets that lucky too are slim. They have to go best coach they can land or else they're screwed, especially now that the SEC is putting a lot of that excess football money into basketball.

I don’t see UNC taking Beard for the same reasons we didn’t try to get him back.

But regardless Trev is and will always be a dumbass

Huh? Try to get him back? He was fired and at no point CDC tried to get him back.

...oh, the struggle. What did past participles do to people in Texas to make message board posters hate them?

This is the kind of verbiage that I'd expect from Trev Alberts!

PS- I don't know if Trev is making these AD decisions on his own or if he is taking the lead from administrators/"BMAs", but it is quite enjoyable to watch.

Thread title needs to be changed to “Trev Alberts is a freaking genius!”  He is single-handedly destroying TAMU athletics and I’m here for it.

Y'all is the contraction of ye all, not you all.  In older English ye was the plural form of you, so y'all is plural.

I've got an old saying that I use frequently: "If you lived long enough, you'd know everything." Thanks to you, I'm now one step closer to irrepressible omniscience.

Let's not act like there was a lot to destroy.

Hiring an assistant with no head coaching experience to take over a national champion runner up baseball team and go from preseason No. 1 to unranked and in the SEC basement is a pretty nice work of destruction.

That assistant was wholly responsible for A&M's run to the title game.  Nobody could have predicted this season's misfortune.

First, proper plural is "yous" (spent time in Northeast Yankeeland).

Second, "ye" appears to be an ongoing copying error. The actual word in original documents was ðe, using the symbol "eth", which is a "hard" or "voiced" th-sound, as in this, that, and other, but not with. The transliteration of a "y" in place of the "eth" is understandable. Thees and thous in the bible translations attest that the mis-take was not universal.

Actually, depending on the number of persons to whom he was referring, "y'all" might be correct. Every Southerner worth his salt knows that "y'all" is singular; "all y'all" is plural.

I didn't know what soda or pop was until I went to college. Grew up with people asking, "What kind of coke do you want?"

This, right here. Soda, pop, soda pop, coke, cocola... I gave up and commenced to calling it "fizzy water"...

Didn’t understand why they hired Trev in the first place.   But then it dawned on me this was aggy.   They started their SEC path with Dollar Bill and then lured Woodward from LSU.  Then Woodward got smart and bailed  to LSU (his alma mater) and they replaced him with Bjork who in turn lost trust from the aggy Boosters and fan base because he lost the “Gentlemen’s Agreement”  aggy had with the SEC to keep Texas out of the SEC.   He also was  partially responsible for the Jimbo debacle, so I can’t blame the aggy BMD’s for not trying to keep him from leaving the sinking ship and going to Ohio State.    But then they hire Trev?  His only claim to fame at Nebraska is his playing days and managing to sell out Corn’s football stadium for a Volleyball game?

I remain gobsmacked that Ohio State hired Bjork.  Talk about failing up.  tOSU could have landed just about any AD they wanted, and they picked THAT goober?

They won’t realize what a bad hire Bjork is until maybe next academic year.   It was a real head scratcher they hired him right after the Jimbo fall out.   You’d think some of the Ohio State BMD’s would’ve raised concern on this alone?

They're just making sure they've got Jimbo lined up, for when Day loses to Meatchicken yet again. Larry Ellison gonna write that check.
