Oh, wait...I've got this one!  Isn't this where we demonstrate real leadership, and say "it could've been worse?"  Man, been waiting for the chance to do that!

From what I understand about the situation, it actually went about as wrong and worse as it could physically and potentially go-- a one stab death. I read on here that is a low probability worse case scenario.

Where is all this info coming from? It was my understanding that there was “zero national outrage.”

How do you define national outrage?

😉

What from this makes you think that I don't care a child died?

My quoting your post in this thread, where you sarcastically imply that others don't care that a kid died, is a reminder of how fucking flippant and disrespectful you were about the root causes of another child's death discussed in that other thread.

Where's the outrage by the Second Amendment folks? Are they funding his habeas petition?

This kid has a clear constitutional right to carry a knife to protect himself. He stood his ground, which is the established policy of this state.

I can't think of anything more Texan and more American than this.

I think the question is was Anthony looking for a fight?   There’s some info out there that says he escalated this.

If I’m carrying a knife, gun, Billy club and I bait you into a fight to Sue said weapon on you then I’m not sure second amendment applies here.

this has turned into an. Ugly situation as usual.

Since this thread started out full cloak room, see Rittenhouse, et al, but we know why it wouldn’t apply here.

Sure were a lot of non-Memorial people in the tent or otherwise close enough to witness things.

Unless you were there, everything you think you know is no better than gossip. Now we have this list of 20+(?), 40+(?) supposed witnesses, a number that seems suspiciously large. There is no reason at all for this to be national news, except maybe to distract from the fact that everyone's retirement has been wiped out and the people without any money in the market will soon find that the buying power of their money is not half of what they thought it'd be. But I guess race agitation heals all wounds, including those inflicted by $80,000 Ford Fiestas.

Sorry you can’t read. Not my problem.

Your hatred for Derka is blinding you into wading into totally unnecessary political territory. He was the messenger. I cannot fathom Derka being an End Wokeness proponent.

All I've said in this thread is 1) there's two sides to every story, both are biased, and none of us know the full details, 2) bad actors on both sides of the political aisle twist information to push their preferred political worldview, and 3) it's a very tragic situation for all involved

3 eminently reasonable points that have absolutely nothing to do with Derka

And the post you quote is my response to someone who lumped me in with the "FREE POOR INNOCENT KARMELO!!!" crowd when the entire time I've said that side is just as biased and unreliable as the other side.

Reasonable points, but I know enough to know this kid is a murderer regardless of any other facts.

The suspects own quote to police "he put his hands on me, I told him not to" tracks independent witness statements.  He didn't claim he was getting his ass kicked or strangled or any actual "self defense" with a deadly weapon, his statement indicates at most he was pushed/grabbed and he murdered a fellow student in response (with a knife he voluntarily brought to a fucking track meet).  The CR regulars can search high and low for nuance (per usual) but there isn't anything out there even suggesting this isn't cut and dry murder.

The part that makes me madly skeptical of any defense is the fact the he brought a knife to a foot fight.

Granted, it was ages ago, but never at any point during my HS sports life did I consider bringing a knife to any of my sporting events, and people got shot at some of the sporting events I attended. (Non that I played in)

That's the major clue that had me on a super heavy murder lean from the start. Add to it he was in the victims tent, and it just doesn't look good.

I've not heard the notes you pointed out about witness statements, but in fairness, I've not dug in any depth for details either.

I don't practice in Texas but seems to me there's an argument that can be made for manslaughter. Homicide laws actually do have quite a bit of nuance (per usual.)

I don’t hate America and I’ll never self deport. I hate no-talent assclowns who throw out irrelevant political 2nd amendment comments in a tragic stabbing thread in pathetic effort to discuss their cause. Go fuck yourself, you smarmy little cunt.

I haven't seen any of that here, the nuance is between whether it's a death penalty, life wo parole, or possibility of parole, and the possibility of self defense although I haven't seen any legitimate source reporting facts that would support that possibility. That sort of nuance isn't interesting to him, it's just murder and anyone who considers surrounding circumumstances for any reason is just being a woke librul "free karmelo" agitator.

This is where I fall - kid's going away for decades, the question is how many.  There's still a lot that will come out before the trial, and then after.  It's obviously getting a lot of attention in Frisco, so the information outlets are flowing.  It's a matter of sifting through it all to glean what is valid and what is just conjecture.

You can count me as a far left CR regular.  IMO, Karmelo provoked him so that he can use his knife.  Karmelo needs to be in jail for the rest of his life
