Pull Flores before he gives up a home run here.

We clearly need Flores to be a poor man’s Grubbs

Last two conference series are Florida in Austin and then OU in Norman.

The last series at OU starts on Thursday because of the conference tournament the next week.

Does pulling Ruger early there give us a clue about Spencer’s “soreness” … seems like an intentional move to save Ruger and get other guys reps for the upcoming tough week

Schloss said in his interview before the game that Ruger would be pulled early because he might have to fill Spencer's spot in case that doesn't resolve by next weekend.  It was planned from the start.

So you’re telling me he’s eligible for the win

This Jonah Williams kid might have a future...

His confidence at the plate for a 17 year-old is impressive.

Some other guys on our roster could learn a thing or two from him.

I keep forgetting he’s an early enrolly

Damn chased it.

Terrible send but it worked out.

if Spencer is skipped, I guess max on Sunday?  Would need Dre and the rest of the pen to really step up. Burns has looked good recently.  Walker out of nowhere as a spot lefty.

Jonah Williams needs to homer against aggy next weekend

I don’t know if we can afford the clean up costs after the crowd-gasm

Nice catch.

Probably not a great decision to send Williams there, but the kid looks good on the base paths.

I thought for sure he was going to be tagged out.

Yeah he was out easily, hadn’t even rounded the bag when LF started the throw. Set him up for a potential collision. It says we trust that we trust his base running instincts (and obviously his speed)

Telling that Schloss apparently said one of the big pluses for the team has been actually using the S&C program.

Yeah, I wasn't as down on Pierce as many But that is pretty damning.

It's really hard to argue with the anti-Pierce people now...

Schlossnagle's WAR is infinity at this point....

Well, I guess you have to give Pierce some credit for a workable roster/recruiting.  Even Augie the great struggled for several years, presumably because of recruiting hangover from end-stage Gus/Deron.

I maintain that Pierce is a solid baseball coach, but with some obvious holes. Schloss is elite. And that may be an understatement.

I agree with both of those statements. I'm curious if Pierce bolts Rice in a few years for another big time program...

Probably accurate.

I suppose Rice was Wayne and he had sort of a pipeline for a while.  Do we believe it now virtually impossible for Rice to rise again?
