It was a great omen when the announcers kept dreaming about A&M getting a 2 seed.

Because we all know that Aggies always falter whenever they catch the faintest whiff of success.

God damn, did he just say that, “if they’re playing the eyes of Texas you know it’s a pretty good night” implying we only sing it after wins? This dude did no research

Guy on sec now just asked the panel something about the coaches or the players going to Texas is worse as an aggy player.  They have no real idea of what happened or didn’t happen.

Really? Well shows what I know.

Granted it isn't like I read the rule book, I just assumed that was true based on how these things are normally scored.

So what did aggy do to get more competitive? Change their lineup? Pitchers? Somebody come back from injury?

Oh, and, never a doubt.

Probably just got out of their own way and remembered they have some good players.

Oh and...of course, never a doubt. Had it the whole way.

Example: ground ball right through the legs of an infeilder

Official scorer can call it anyway he wants to.

A play that should be made, like when two fielders look at each other and neither makes the play, it's been usually called a hit.

This brought on the call for a team error in situations like that.

you know the PBP was salivating over an aggy win so he could say something douchey like "Texas stole their coach but they can't steal a win on the field!"

Instead he can only say "Texas wins..."

Yep, it's all about "ordinary effort".  What is "ordinary" is what is in the eye of the beholder (scorer).

It's why on the flip side if somebody hits a missile to the outfield and the fielder is on a screaming run to catch it, but doesn't quite get there and it ticks off his glove it's a hit....there was nothing ordinary about the effort to make the play.

In Kimble’s defense that is a really tough play for a First Baseman and a healthy Mendoza probably calls him off. Jayden not having a ton of time at 2B probably led to him deferring to Kimble

Oh, and, never a doubt.

Lineup changes and getting at least one key batter back from injury

I get that A&M fans are weird so see evil and sip conspiracies in every innocuous thing, but surely nobody else thinks hiring a coach who previously had a job at another school is some unethical theft. That is how most schools hire their coaches.

It's how A2M got their pitching coach/associate head coach.

I actually think they hired Earley just so they could say they didn't steal someone else's coach in baseball.  It is stupid but this is aggy we are talking about so it is highly likely.

it’s probably because Trev Alberts uses a flip phone and didn’t have any other coaches phone numbers in his Rolodex.

They hired Earley because that's who the players wanted.

If they hadn't, they were going to all enter the portal and many would have followed Earley and Schloss to Texas.

Fascinating that D1 has them at a 2 seed. Yes I know they are hot right now. It still intriguing.

We'll see where they have them once we are done with them.

Man...one of the benefits of being in the SEC was not getting that stupid matchup in the Regionals every year.

We won’t play another SEC team in a regional. Whether 2 or 3, aggy will be in Ft Worth.

SEC network guys just called Farmer a freshman, repeatedly

"Fighting Farmers Fall to Frosh Farmer" is a line straight out of the Olin Buchanan playbook.

This and it’s well documented.

I figured with the super conferences that might not apply anymore.

It all makes sense when you realize that they are actually indeed just giant retarded children.

Call it a hunch, but I feel like Harrison actually matches up well with this lineup with the lefties and his ability to spin breaking balls.

He’ll hit Binderup twice because we can’t avoid that but I got a good feeling otherwise.

Just watched some highlights and forgot about Earley and the batter talking shit to the ump after the check swing strike 3... then the replay clearly shows he swung. Aggy are bitches, plain and simple.

Earley is way too emotional in general. A team often reflects their manager and he is a first year coach living and dying with every pitch. He was changing positions between squatting and this weird standing position in front of the dugout constantly.

When Schuessler dropped that pop up, Schloss was in the background and his expression didn’t change one bit. No big deal, just move on to the next pitch.

Yea but that one was clearly the 1st baseman’s ball all the way. Hence why they changed it to an E

No chance they get a two seed. They aren’t going to win more than 12 conference games I would bet. Last year there were 3 SEC 2 seeds with 13 wins and one 3 seed with 13.

As of right now conference members can’t be matched up in regional play but with these massive conferences I can see them amending that in the future. I could see them pairing conference teams that did not play each other in the regular season at some point in the future.
