Colin Cowherd still convinced Irsay decided the Sam move and should have stuck with Wentz and that Sam is just a backup. But then he’s Russell Wilson homer…so how’s that working out Colin?

The Indianapolis Colts will start Sam Ehlinger at quarterback for the remainder of the season, coach Frank Reich announced Monday.

Quarterback Matt Ryan, who started the Colts' first seven games, has a Grade 2 separation of his shoulder but Reich said the move isn't being made because of injury.

"Right now the move is for Sam to be the starter for the rest of the season," Reich said, according to the team's website.

We have arrived at “Down the road”.

"way down the road" lmfao

Ryan has a season and a half left in him at best.

Brady is warping everyone's baseline.

I mean - that said - Ryan did throw almost 4,000 yards last season. On top of a blistering 20/12 TD/INT, 6.8 AYA and 46.1 QBR.

Actually, HALF of a season was stretching it

Who was the last non-Colt Longhorn to start an NFL game at QB? Was it really Vince? Unless Gilbert got a start somewhere, he’s been around forever.

He meant non-McCoy Colt, not non-Indianapolis Colt.

I didn’t even think of that, wow. Should’ve said non-mccoy.

And yeah I guess Gilbert did start a game for the cowboys a couple years ago.

Gilbert has started a couple games here and there. He’s stuck as a backup for a while.

I was on record saying that Sam would be a career backup and never start a game that wasn’t due to injury or tanking. Regardless of what happens from here on, respect the dedication to his craft. Rooting for him.

More from McAfee: Rappaport saying basically it makes sense from a football perspective. Sam has moxy and it’s the most important trait…so fucking awesome. Of course McAfee ends it with it’s an exciting time and Colts are going to the Super Bowl. Awesome (just paraphrased it mostly in case people can’t watch):

We gotta to do a surly Colts watch party if Sam plays well…he’s got ten games. Matt Ryan also has grade 2 shoulder separation so they won’t switch back to Ryan and we saw Sam beat out Foles for the number 2 slot last week…don’t get hurt Sam and show them what you got! Just win baby!

Cowherd can't let it go with Wentz. He talks about the guy like he's some young guy with potential and not a dude who's bounced around to several teams and has caused those teams to not have success.

Yep. All of this. To Colin’s credit his advice to people getting into the business he’s in: you don’t have to be right just be interesting. So there is some truth to part of that. Lol.

Sam is the big story on all the sports stuff this afternoon. So awesome. How he proves all the haters wrong.

Ever since Luck retired unexpectedly a few years back, they have been throwing darts at a board and none of them worked out. Rivers, Wentz, Ryan, Brissett.

No idea why they brought in Ryan. He's beyond washed.

Good for Sam. That division is still wide open.

Especially our haters here, who denied trashing Sam. Lulz, it took about five minutes to pull their quotes from this thread.

Sam was a leader and winner. The fact that not even having an elite QB did much for us, outside of 2018, said a ton about the state of the program. Especially as we heard for years we just needed an elite QB again. Nope. Problems run deeper than that.

As a Titans fan I am happy that they have played both their games this year and I can root for Sam every week here on out. Go get em.

And that they keep giving away draft picks for old washed up dudes.
