Was there any doubt whatsoever that changing kickers this year was going to include a game lost at the end by the kicker? It was destiny.

Game lost by the kicker? So you ignore everything leading up to that? This game was lost on the coaching staff. Dak played a part in it. Zeke played terrible. The fact we played for overtime when we had all the momentum and a timeout and were driving was pathetic. They went in a shell after they got in range. After the Beasley catch, we had a timeout and let 12 seconds run off the clock after the ball was spotted. It was ridiculous. It was 2012 Ravens game all over again where we played for a 50-60 yd FG and missed it. We didn't even try to get any more yards.

I mean if you want to play for the FG, fine. But try and get 10-15 more yards. Even without the penalty, that was a 47yd FG. With how kickers are these days, that is no longer a gimme. Thise dude has been nails this whole season.

And without the joke of a penalty he likely makes that kick.

But yes, we lost the game because the completely inept gameplanning by Garrett and Linehan showed up, again.  Surprise!!!

-Hey, on 9 out of every 1st and 10's, let's run the same exact run to Zeke even though Wash has 9 in the box.

-Let's get 3 backbreaking holding penalties at inopportune moments (Connor's was particularly egregious as all he needed to do was push the defender to the ground as he had already slipped)

-Dak, way to hold onto the ball forever and ever, Amen.

-Garrett, again, way to have a plan to run 2 plays with 56 seconds and a timeout in your pocket, inside the opponent's territory.  That is just failure at an unthinkable level.

Also try and wrap your head around this from Garrett.

1st down on the Washington 37. 52 seconds left. 1 timeout. How many plays did we run? 2. Fucking 2!

How much longer is this piece of shit going to keep getting away with this?

Yeah I said 56 seconds, I meant 52.  And go back and listen to Romo's audio during that time period.  He basically calls out what he would be doing on the field, especially as the time is winding.  When we got to Zeke's run he says "You clock it here.  If not, you're just rushing up to the ball and you have to snap it with little to no communication and the defense will send everyone. You clock it and you have the option to throw over the top if they play man/man, or if they back off you hand it off and then call your timeout."

Romo roasted Garrett's conservative playcalling and clock management several times during the game.  I thought it was hilarious.

That's what I was thinking too..... Although it's a radio spot, so I bet if they won, Jerry would have made time for it and called in.  He loves to hear himself talk.

I'd take this with a big grain of salt though.... No idea how good his "sauces" are....

So who’s next? Lincoln Riley?

Listening to Stephen Jones on The Fan right now. Vomit inducing. Here's some of his points

*A young team. We just have to keep fighting and continue to improve each week

* East is wide open and we still feel we have a chance to do good things

* We scored more than our average of previous road games this season with a chance for more.

I know this is all coach speak but I really feel like this is the mindset of this team. No one is held accountable for anything. There is no real desire to be great. Mediocrity is accepted and celebrated. Because like Garrett and Jerry used to say when we lost the NFC East championship 3 years in a row, the goal is to have a chance to get to the playoffs on the last day. Yeah, not actually win the division, maybe get a top seed or anything like that and solidify your seed but as long as they have a chance to make the playoffs, that is good enough for them. And it trickles down to our players. They see their head coach is not held accountable for anything he has did for damn near a decade.

Great article going into detail about how bad Garrett is at clock management. And this is only the big ones. There have been plenty of others, some we overcame and got the win in spite of his shitty coaching. I just don't get it. Clock management is pretty basic and simple. Nothing about it is complicated. Kids learn this at an early age playing Madden. Yeah that's a video game and you aren't on the field of live action but it is something that any coach should be able to master. And it's not even the grey area of strategy of when to call timeouts and stuff that can be debated. What Garrett is failing at here is just downright fucking simple, common sense shit that a JV coach can execute. We stripped away his playcalling because he was so bad. And so many claimed this would make him much better at being a walk around coach and at clock management because now he can focus all his attention to it. Nope.

Why would any hot commodity coach ever want to work for Jerry Fucking Jones?  He'll take all the credit if they succeed and will be more than happy to pass on the blame.  He's also a control freak who will never just let you coach the team your way, and will try to interfere, which will hold you back from doing what you think is needed to win.  I don't see Riley or anyone else aiming at an NFL gig choosing Dallas over any other situation.  Thanks Jerry, you worthless fuck.

I’m pretty sure Garrett makes $6mm per year on a 5 year contract totaling $30mm. So what’s that- a little less than double Riley’s salary?

He can make that with any number of other NFL teams if that's what he wants.  I'm saying no coach who is wanted is going to choose Dallas over any other NFL position (except maybe Cleveland, and it would be close).

Well he's from Texas and some guys get sentimental about that sort of thing.

You think coaching the Dallas fucking Cowboys is an equal draw to the Browns? lolk

These days, I think it's pretty fucking close.  Fucking clown show with no upside as long as Jerry fucking lives, and his son seems to be slowly inheriting his dipshittery.

I think there was an arkansas razorback 1964 doc where they interview Jones and he said he always wanted to coach.  It's never good when your owner who has never coached at any level says that "he always wanted to be a coach".

My buddy and I were discussing this after the game and curious to what everyone's thought is here: is Jerry Jones becoming the owner the worst thing to have ever happened to the Cowboys?

yes. The only good thing he has ever done is hire Jimmy Johnson and it was so bad for Jimmy that even though he probably could have won 2 or 3 more Super Bowls he decided to walk away, in his prime.   Let that sink in.

The last two decades or basically anything after Jimmy..... yes.  And we can't get rid of him.  He's the worst GM in football and a failure as a "football man" left to his own devices.  Stephen doesn't look to be much better except he doesn't seem to want the limelight as much.  I joke the best thing for the franchise would be Jerrah's #metoo moment, but frankly, it's probably a huge IRS scandal which forces the Jones' to sell.... They're a plague who have made themselves rich off of selling mediocrity to the loyal masses.

Also this..... lol.  He gone.

You should read the actual story.

IG model goes with TWill to his room.  As they're talking, he finds out she has a boyfriend. They argue and  he asks her to leave.  She refuses to leave.  He calls a friend to come escort her out of the room.  She throws a tantrum and calls the police.

The Miami Beach Police Dept. is investigating Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Terrance Williams over a hotel room altercation with a popular Instagram model ... TMZ Sports has learned.

According to the police report, cops were called to the Fontainebleau Hotel on Saturday morning about an incident involving Williams and Nicole Zavala, whose racy IG page has more than 200k followers.

1022-nicole-zavala-ig-3.jpg

Zavala told cops she met Williams -- who's currently out with a foot injury -- at a nightclub and went back to his room. But while there, Zavala claims a verbal altercation took place and she was asked to leave.

Zavala says she protested -- but Williams called a friend over to physically escort her out. The friend allegedly grabbed her by the arm and put her in the hallway. TMZ Sports obtained a photo of Zavala's alleged injuries.

1022-nicole-zavala-injury-sports-wm-3.jpgWilliams later told police he kicked her out because Zavala had a boyfriend and he didn't want the drama. He's adamant he never threw a punch or abused her in any way.

Cops say they have cell phone video showing Zavala pouting on the bed and refusing to leave the room when asked.

Zavala also acknowledges Williams never personally touched her.

Still, cops are investigating the incident as a "battery report." So far, no arrests have been made and no charges have been filed.

Several calls to Williams have not been returned.

from 1960 to 1993 the cowboys went to 16 Conf Champ games in 34 years.  This 34 years includes being an expansion team in an era when they weren't really "helping" expansion teams.  From 1994 to 2017 we went to 2 conf champ games in 24 years.

even if you want to give Jones credit for Jimmy it's 4 in 24 years(zero since 1995) and 14 in 32 years.

Jones is and always will be the problem. too many years of proof since that core went away.

I mean, he's almost surely not coming back next year..... It's simply another distraction he doesn't need considering he'll hit UFA next year.  I think he's going to find a tough market for himself.

Also, I sometimes wonder how the term "IG model" makes any sense..... I take pics of myself, therefore I'm a model?  Social media, man.....

No doubt he's not gonna be back here next year, but I don't think this even warrants as a distraction considering he handled it fairly well.  But, he probably should have called the police himself.

^^^Might be nice to have that first for a QB. But I guess we're tied to Dak for sure then.

Supposed to be a first round pick. That seems kinda stupid.

This QB draft is horrendous..... The Oregon guy is generally the top rated and he may stay in school after some bad performances.  The FA market is really bad too.

That said, a first round pick is stupid and too much..... We'll see if anything is coming back and I like Cooper more than some here, but a first round pick is an overpay.  Jerrah special.

Oakland now has 3 first round draft picks. Senile Jerry has none. And this is why I'm watching the team less and less. I was on a flight yesterday and really didn't give a shit that I missed the game. This shit is cursed. One step forward, 3 steps back every year.
