I'm guessing you are too young to remember watching Danny White play, otherwise you would realize what ridiculous take this is.

It's a bad take. White's surrounding cast was light-years better than what Romo was given to play with, not to mention he was coached by Tom Landry. Romo had a partial season with Parcells/Payton and then had Wade Phillips and Jason Garrett as HC. (And Romo had Jerry as GM for the entirety of his career.) Yet still, Romo blows White away when it comes to stats compared to his peers (four-time Pro Bowler compared to one for White) and in the Top 10 season leaders in TDs (7-5), passing yards (4-2) and QB rating (8-5, including #1 in 2014).

Lmao at comparing stats from eras separated 20 more years. Stop. That's like saying Romo was better than Staubach or Aikman because of stats. Every modern day player in the pass game is going to hold the team records in most categories. The game is more than numbers on a piece of paper.

And people love to downplay what Romo had to play with to make excuses for his shortcomings. Romo played with TO, Witten, Demarco, Dez. They started to build the line in 2011. This offense was not voided of talent. But that will be the narrative to make Romo seem like the lone hero in the cape. All people bring up is stats with Romo. They shy away from what really matters and that is winning. Romo was not a winner and not even close. Shitting the bed at the end of the season was what Romo teams did for most of the time here.

How revered this guy is here is beyond me. He made flashy plays here and there but never won shit. The same can be said for Dak if he never wins. Zeke as well.

You know who else has put up pretty stats at times? Stafford. Rivers. And they never won shit either. Well at least Rivers got past the divisional round one time. Romo was 0-3 in that round. 2007, 2008 and 2014 were all teams that had the potential to do very good things. And we got one single wild card win out of it of the 3. Let's not forget the 0-3 in the last game of the season, win or go home games of 2008, 2011, 2012 he started in. But hey, he put up stats so that's all that mattered. Y'all sound like the crowd who claim Rodgers is better than Brady and then list all these excuses on why Rodgers does not have the wins that Brady does in the playoffs.

Jeez Vic went off the deep end, again.  Dude just hates anything Cowboy related 2007 on.  Surprised he still take the time to bitch about this team anymore.

Lmao. You are the fucking Mickey Spagnolia and Bryan Broaddus of this thread. Your takes are simplistic, generic and towing the company line and no one takes you seriously. Have you taken the pulse of this fanbase on the state of this franchise? But cheerleader Drew will come to the Cowboys rescue as always. Hearing your takes on this team reminds me of how Rhynes used to sound when introducing Mickey Spagnolia saying "thuhhh raaaanch report". The sound of "let's see what sunshine this company clown is going to blow up their ass today".

This is the rundown of how these sportswriters ranked the Cowboys QBs. Danny White got 3 more points than Romo. So please stop your rhetoric of "going off the deep end because I'd take White over Romo". You dudes are acting like I am picking Quincy Carter over Romo. You do this quite often to try and fit in with a lot of the echo chamber that goes on here. You rarely have an original thought/ You just parrot anyone else you see. Like the dweeb you are.

Does this prove I'm right? Absolutely not. But to claim I am going off the deep end is fucking silly. And that is my point.

Romo vs White is like comparing brands of Mayo.  Meh.  They were both serviceable,  had their moments,  but neither was viewed as elite in their day.  Being old enough to remember both,  Romo got a bit more hype perhaps but only because he was undrafted and Parcel's aura of pulling him off the scrap heap.

Did you not even read my post? The stats I posted were Romo compared to the rest of his peers, just like I did with White. White finished in the Top 10 in passing TDs, yards and QB Rating considerably less times than Romo. I didn't even bring up their career numbers for that very reason.

BTW, White's career record as a starter was 62-30 (.673); Romo's 78-49 (.614). White was 5-5 in the postseason with a 15/16 TD/INT ratio. Romo was 2-4 in the postseason with a 8/2 TD/INT ratio.

Danny White was a great QB until his wrist got fucked up. He didn't have the supporting cast that most others did by comparison. In that way he was similar to Romo.

White was one of the smartest QBs of all time, despite a couple of memorable gaffs. It's a shame he never coached at the NFL level.

Lets see Danny White and Roger Staubach had Tom Landry

Troy had a shit ton of talent around him and Jimmy Johnson

Tony had a couple of play makers, no defense, back 9 Bill Parcells, and Jason Garrett...

It's almost as if I'm talking to Jerry Jones right now, coaching doesn't matter, roster structure doesn't matter, just need to find me one of them there Tom Brady's and all is good.

Lee out for a long time.... maybe season although I would think he'll want to put on the star at least one last time.  I think he gets cut in offseason.

Quote

Cowboys LB Sean Lee (hamstring) is expected to miss 4-6 weeks.

Lee missed three weeks with his hamstiring issue earlier this season. His latest setback has him returning in Week 14 at the earliest. It's been another injury prone year for Lee, who hasn't played more than 11 games since 2016. The Cowboys can save $7 million from moving on from Lee this offseason.

They'll likely cut him and re-sign him to a very team friendly deal, which i'd be ok with.

I'd like to see this. Otherwise, Mr. Glass is no longer worth the skrilla. I'd rather use some of that money to keep DLaw and make a run at Earl to QB the secondary.

Not sure what you mean, it's all on Lee. If he wants to come back for a sweet heart deal, and stay a Cowboy he will.  They're not going to give him a big deal or anything, and if he wants one, he'll be gone.

But it's obvious that LVE and Jaylon are the future LB>

I hope Dez fails makes miserably. He starts badmouthing everything about the cowboys in his way out. Hate people who do that. If it wasnt for Jerry and the cowboys that dude would be in jail or bankrupt at the very least.

They baked him out of so much shit and out up with so much from him then he bashes them, screw him.

Brees and Payton won’t put up with his tantrums in New Orleans. I’m sure Dez will try and be the good teammate, at least for a while

Again I have no idea what you’re even talking about. Can you put a single thought together, even if it’s wrong, and write it where people can understand you?

I hope Dez fails makes miserably.  That's your first sentence.  They baked him out of so much shit and out up with so much from him then he bashes them, screw him.  That's another.  It's incoherent.  I was just making a joke about you being drunk, and it went over your head.  I'll stick to knock knock jokes with you.

I mean, I didn't like the way he went out. But I have no hatred for the Saints or Dez.  I like Sean Peyton and Brees(Texas guy), so I won't hate them winning the SB if they do.  But it won't be because Dez is there...he'll be the 3rd option probably.
