It's a 'look at me!' chain. A receiver can't take their helmet off and celebrate in the end zone after scoring a TD. They skirt that rule for defenders with the turnover chain. The cameras get pointed at him and he gets his mug on TV, celebrating. I'm sure it helps in recruiting but it's counter to the spirit of a team sport. I don't like it and I think such displays will eventually be banned.

Funny thing is I literally thought we were paying tribute because nobody gets a delay of game on the first play of the game.....like nobody!!!!
