My unbroken streak of application denial continues.

 

Same rejection as last year. However I did get to go in 2024

So I logged on to the website and it said the process has been completed and I would get an email. Not sure why the website could not tell me so…….…you’re saying there is a chance.
Still no email as of 5PM.
Not holding my breath.

So I never got the email, still haven’t, but when I logged into the site it said I was not selected. If you are seeing something else maybe that’s a good thing.

Unfortunately no.

I got the rejection letter today.

Fuck yes! Every time I or one of the guys I’ve gone down with have gotten our name pulled (4 of the last 8 years) I thought about how long you’ve been entering without a win. I’ve been hoping you’d get your name pulled. Happy for you.

Now the fun begins ..  better start looking for hotel rooms.  If you have a large quantity of hilton points - these were much cheaper for me to use than paying in dollars. 60K per night is about 320 bucks and rooms were over 600 at Hampton etc

The last few times we’ve gone down we’ve rented air bnbs on Clark’s hill lake near Lincolnton, GA and lake Murray near Columbia, SC. Both times we’ve had about an hour drive to Augusta National. We get it a few days before the day we have tickets for and then have 2-3 days to golf before we go to the masters. 

If you really wanted to spend some money, last year the Tree Farm had some cabins available the week of the masters.

Tickets arrived Wednesday, I was out of town, it was today that they are in my hands.

Fucking stoked!

If you’re only interested in seeing ANGC, there might be another way. There is a separate lottery for tickets to the women’s amateur tournament which occurs the week before then Masters. Only the final round is played at Augusta National.

This is what I just applied for. Hoping there is a little less demand and better chances at the lottery. My son lives in Augusta now and has to work all Masters week so I figured this would be our best chance to get on the course.

I’ve won the masters lottery but not the ANWA. Just an FYI.

I’ve been trying forever and am 0 fer. Even more annoying is that my FIL’s close friend is a prominent Augusta member and he had the opportunity to play or go to the Masters several times. But he passed away so that avenue is closed too now. And it hurts as well because my FIL was a great person and it would have been incredible to play Augusta with him.

I had my name picked in 2017 and 2023. I guess I have 2 more years of rejections before I’m due to get picked again.

My group got to go in 18, 22, 24, and 25. Every year we told our wives that it might be decades before we get to go again. They believed it less each time.

Now it feels like we’re really going to be settling in for a long run of cold northern Aprils instead of starting golf season in Georgia eating peach ice cream sandwiches.

Add me to the L list. However I did get to go in 2024 so not as bad for me as others. Still regret not signing up for tickets back in high school. Pretty sure I would have them by now. Just for grins I looked at the Hilton website for Mon/Tues. 1300 a night

I got drawn for Monday practice. I never dreamed of making back to back trips but here we are. Instant karma for my friend who was gracious enough to invite me this year. I am repaying that debt to him in 2027, and finally able to bring my Dad.

Just kidding, glad somebody won in here.

My application got picked. Two for Saturday. I’ve been so stunned I forgot to report. I’m speechless.

Is this your first visit? Having a comp round as your first visit is going to be a whirlwind! I am happy to have started with ANWA, which is basically an open house and a completely underrated jackpot. THankful for getting Monday practice for 2027 for sake of having a camera. Absolute game changer there. Congrats!

I’ve been lucky enough to attend before. I actually bought broker tickets a few times before the prices went absolutely nuts. I’ve also applied in the online lottery as long as it’s been around.
