Of course you love this imagery.

Dude.  It's fucking Surly.  I went with the gag/comparison that was already made.

Oh, and I would very much like for the Rogans and Gabbards of the world to go down in flames.  That part's true.

No, Austin cannot be both as liberal as it's ever been and have "gone MAGA."

It was an observation by someone who hasn't lived here in 25 years that just isn't correct.

The general population and voting habits are blue, but it's also a hub for weirdos who like to live side by side with the people they claim to hate. It can be both.

I live in Austin now, and it's as liberal as it's ever been.

The city is several times bigger than it was in the 90s, and you referenced like 3 people who weren't already here back then as evidence that the city's gone MAGA.

It 100% has not.

Come on, I never said "Austin has gone MAGA and fascist." Here's what I posted:

"it's seriously mind-blowing to see Austin become a hub for major MAGA fascists and fascism." By major MAGA fascists, I meant big name fascists, celeb fascists, or fascist moves. And then I listed some examples.

Of course, the fascists-MAGA celebs dig the benefits of the Austin cultural scene, precisely as they trash and troll the "liberals" and "socialists." It's doublethink, which they proudly embrace as their mode of thinking. A poster above mentioned Austin voters went 72-27 in favor of Biden. So do we know if Austin used to voted 80-90% Democrat or has always been around 70%?

No doubt, Austin will be mostly liberal for quite a while in the future. However, I predict more MAGA-GQP stars will move to Austin, inspired by Jones, Musk, Rogan, Abbott et al, and others (plus tax breaks, pro-business gov't), etc. Ain't nobody moving to Austin because of Beto (and I like Beto).

That's how fascism works, spread like a malignant virus, then infect the centers of cultural and political power, even without a majority. Nothing would make MAGA-GQP fascists happier than seeing liberal tears flowing in Austin and its bastion of secular liberalism -- our world-renowned university from which we proudly hold degrees!

Speaking of Davidians. Isn't Musk supposed to build a compound for Tesla employees near Bastrop?

Is it better than neoconservativeism?  Sure. That's a very damned low bar though ...

Back when these comments were made, the neoconservatives were advocating (or trying to influence) foreign policy in the GOP.  Now they are besties with the Dems.  They really don't care what umbrella they use as long as it rains blood.

yeah, the Dems getting excited about having the endorsement of Dick Cheney is not something I had on my 2024 Presidential Election Bingo Card.

Tulsi is not and never was "my girl".  Maybe one day you can see a therapist and show him/her where on the doll big, bad bernorange touched you.  Your kneejerk reactions to everything I post are kind of sad really.

Point me to anyone being "excited" about Dick Cheney's endorsement.

How about Kamala being "honored" to be endorsed by "well respected" leaders Dick and Liz Cheney?    I know, I know she didn't say, "excited".

Someone who the Democrats have repeatedly said is Satan incarnate.

What is she supposed to say? "We accept all endorsements from Republicans who are putting country above party and trying to be on the right side of history. Except that guy. Fuck that guy." (Even though I really, really wish she could say that about that piece of shit.)

There's a reason Dick wasn't at the town hall that she did with Liz. There's a way to accept the endorsement while still maintaining distance and ideological differences.

This isn't hard. It's the old "enemy of my enemy is my friend" maxim.

The Gaza fiasco benefits only a few Israeli and Palestinian leaders. NO ONE in the Dem Party or even Trump (after Nov 5) wants this politically, leave aside the horrific human cost.

Can't have a popular front against fascism without a lot of people who don't like each other allying together to defeat the fascists. This isn't really that hard to understand for anyone who hasn't suffered a very serious TBI.

Trump has made the republican party so idiotic and retarded even the fucking neocons want out.

GW Bush and scumbags like Romney are too cowardly to admit it publicly, but you know they're voting Blue too.

And there's dickheads here, who I won't name, that are so retarded they think being associated with people who are too fascist and extreme for neocons makes them the good guys.

Stupidity knows no bounds.

Hey, I'm as surprised as you are.

I think with he and Liz it has more to do with personal animosities than any real ideological problem with fascism.

I want y'all to know that I've always been right about everything. Tulsi Gabbard says she's joining the GOP at Trump rally in North Carolina.

The rumor around town is that John Carter is retiring and she’s going to run for CD31 in ‘26. @Bateshorn have you heard this?
