How did we end up in a situation where the streaming option is the one with more ads? I hate this timeline.

For giggles, IS dstream just so much more expensive that it isn't worth the analysis. I use it a good bit at family members houses and it is pretty nice.

Note: if you select the record all college football option it does not consider the champion game to be in that category. Basically my only complaint as it caused me to miss the third quarter as I put kids to bed....oh...and sometimes it confuses command center with the main game and it complicates watching later.

again....

I just switched to the ad-tier to see if it is super annoying or just an excuse to look at my phone or take a piss, etc.

Sure they gained 18m subscriber in Dec. How else were people supposed to watch the game?

They also aired some live boxing bullshit in December that a lot of people watched for unknown reasons.

I canceled netflix awhile back...I'm struggling to remember the last show we watched before cancelling and I asked the wife but she doesn't recall either. I just browsed their list of current top shows, and I'd guess The Diplomat S1 was the last one.

I sign up for Hulu + live during the cfb season but there's not much worthwhile to watch there IMO.

We're set for the year with apple tv+ due to their freebie offer through Best Buy - 3 months free, even if you've been a subscriber before, all you need to do is purchase the least expensive item they offer. https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-free-apple-tv-for-3-months-new-or-qualified-returning-subscribers-only/6484512.p?skuId=6484512

Switching from AT&T to T-Mobile was the best decision for my streaming needs:

Discounted Netflix ($9.49 savings)
Free Apple TV+ ($9.99 savings)
Free Paramount Plus via T-Mobile home internet ($7.99 savings)

I lost Max when I switched, but I heard AT&T cut that freebie off so I would have been paying for it again regardless.

Now the decision becomes ditching DTV Stream for Hulu Live, but somehow the settings hasn't changed and I still have sneaky access to Space City Network from Denver.

It still works. I have it.

They took away the plan for it though, so I’d lose that if I were to change plans.

Oh good!

“On February 13, 2025, all Paramount channels will likely become unavailable on YouTube TV. If this happens, this will impact previous Library recordings from these channels, Paramount content in the Entertainment Plus package, and add-on services like Paramount+ with SHOWTIME and BET+.”

I see you got the same email I just did.

Of course. And it includes CBS. With the Super Bowl and college football over I was just about to finally switch over to YTTV. Look for me to finally cut the cord at the next millennium.

The CBS leverage is March Madness.

We’re happy to share that we’ve reached a deal to continue carrying Paramount content on YouTube TV. That means you will continue to have access to Paramount channels, including CBS, CBS Sports, and Nickelodeon, and any recordings in your Library. If you’re subscribed to add-ons like Paramount+ with SHOWTIME, BET+, or the Entertainment Plus package, access to that content also remains uninterrupted.

As a reminder, family managers have the ability to pause or cancel anytime. You can find more information in our Help Center.

With this agreement, YouTube TV will continue to offer 100+ channels, while enabling more user choice in the future. Thank you for your patience as we negotiated on your behalf. As always, we appreciate your YouTube TV membership.

Sincerely,
The YouTube TV team

Email late last night. Figured this was the case, since they never cut them off Thursday night.

It's an expensive android box pre-loaded with IPTV apps. Reddit says it's a hackers dream and a security nightmare. And it's $100 cheaper on Amazon.

You are much better off buying a $50 streaming box and setting up a $15/month IPTV app yourself.
