Big 12 got 5 teams in the tournament: Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Baylor

Would it have been 6 had TCU not had the 9th inning fail yesterday?

here's your aggy crying thread

Gotta love aggy whining about getting screwed because they had a high RPI. You played a joke of an OOC schedule (including UT starting Nico O'Donnell in a road game) with like 2 real road games in there. You got a high RPI by beating a bunch of shitty OOC teams at home and then losing to good teams in conference.  aggy citing their RPI as an accomplishment is an embarrassment, not that they're self aware enough to realize it.  The seeding committe saw through your bullshit RPI and now you're butthurt. Pooooor aggy.

Make no doubt about it, Baylor will make the NCAA tournment and play all their games within 220 miles of Waco. Where as Texas will host a Regional and if they win it be kicked to Nashville or Washington State, or some far off destination, to play the Super.

So, uh, where's Baylor playing?

They're playing in Palo Alto, because the only thing better for judgemental Baptist pricks than condemning the victims of gang rape under the guise of scripture is being surrounded by the hot Bay Area cock they so richly desire.  That in the great state of Texas, we still make jokes about San Francisco while Waco is literally the highest example of Christianity run afoul, we should be ashamed.  I hope they go 0-2 and their university leadership continues to wallow close to hell.  Fuck 'em.

Also...go horns.

Nah, one of these last 4 in would have been knocked out if TCU stole a bid. It could have been Oklahoma State.

That's probably correct, although as was mentioned yesterday, TCU winning would have moved them into Top 50 RPI and we did sweep them. Not sure if that would have mattered or not though. Honestly I wouldn't have been too upset had we been knocked out considering the way we finished the season.

Looks like Baylor swept them too so yeah we'd probably be out.

Situation certainly not handled well with the Miss St AD dropping "teasers" that he had made the hire with signs pointing to Schlossnagle.     Should have waited until the hire's season had ended.    I hope Schloss stays - we need a strong B12.

Something weird is going on with Schloss.  He could have been the Texas coach....and now headed to Miss St?   Does not add up.

TCU did everything to keep him around, highly paid, renovated their stadium 3 or 4 times. Probably had to be a school in another conference for him to leave. MSU has an impressive stadium and a strong following.

Is it official that hes gone?

Whoever said timing is everything is probably right.  We had no AD, he had Del Conte behind him, et cetera.  You also have to think that he has some preference for "country" locations in terms of retirement, cost of living, some combination thereof.

Maybe....but something changed....was it CDC leaving?  Not sure, but something changed if he's actually gone.

One of the posters on KillerFrogs linked this article about a vision impairment shared by his children.   Miss St has a renown research center on blindness and low vision which helps overcome issues.    Article is 5 years old so hopefully the children have improved.  However,  he started a foundation in Ft Worth so who knows

When TCU baseball coach Jim Schlossnagle and his wife, Kami, learned their two children suffered from a rare vision-impairing disease, they had no idea where it would take them.

After several years of trips to clinics in Houston and Johns Hopkins in Baltimore, they found salvation in the Eye Clinic at the University of Iowa.

Jackson and Kathleen Schlossnagle, who will turn 12 and 11, in the next several months, were diagnosed with Leber congenital amaurosis, which affects 1 in 80,000.

"It was completely out of the blue," Jim Schlossnagle said. "It's genetic, basically. We don't have any history of any serious vision or retinal issues on either side of our families. But I have the recessive trait and she does, too."

How so? John made it clear that we were going to get a Championship level coach.. It wasn't completely pointed towards Schloss. and that's bullshit for you to say he should have waited.. we were in a unique situation of some of the TOP Coaches in the country reaching out to us over the past 3 months that the job has been opened. Hell if this falls apart we likely end up with Dan McDonnell.. Kendall was one of the first to confirm Schloss was a candidate.. but still hasn't confirmed anything is signed. As of 4 hours ago he said he was leaning Schloss but could still end up being McDonnell.

It won't be about compensation.. even though he will be one of the top 5? paid coaches if it works out. It's because of the difficulty in getting athletes in under the 11.7 rules. An athlete has to borrow $20k a year to make up the difference at TCU, vs that amount for 3-4 years at MSU. It's the fact we will have the nicest college baseball facility in America in 9 months. It's that we have some of the best fan support in the nation. It's because he has a chance to come to MSU and win a National Championship.

From what I'm putting together, the timing was wrong with the kids and He didn't want to be the guy to follow a legend. Now if your job was open right now.. who knows. Or if it opens up in 5 years... would he leave MSU (if he is hired) for UT? Who knows?

All I know is I'm damn excited about it..and have been for weeks... I'm finally believing Schloss will be our next head coach.. It's by the far the biggest Coaching hire in MSU history and can likely set the tone for the future of the program.

Refugees from Yugoslavia and Arson are obviously correlated.  Not saying causation.  but I'm saying causation.

Anyway, I'm consistently amazed at how many people around the country think "University of (insert state name)" is just as good as any other "University of (insert state name)"

The University of Mississippi, The University of Alabama, the University of Tennessee.  These places are glorified community colleges.  People all over the south literally think the University of Michigan is just the Ole Miss version of Michigan.

Anyway, go Horns.  IU's pitching is a lot better than I realized.  But they are gonna be taxed tomorrow pitching in that 2-5pm Texas heat.

Heah guys,  with due respect,  let's don't Cloak Room a baseball thread.    Similar threads on KillerFrogs if you want to continue the debate.

Fact is when you are a competitive coach/athlete,  the "fire" makes you want a challenge, no matter the locale.   Especially when you have been at one place for 15 years and may feel you have reached the ceiling.

That said,  if Schloss' departure becomes final,  the reasons will eventually  be known.

My apologies.  Your comment about having a chance to win a national championship at MSU rubbed me the wrong way because he came damn close to doing that at TCU more than once.  Could have been last year with a healthy Luken Baker.

No worries dude. Didn't even catch till now you were a frog. Yall will end up with a good coach if you hold on to your current pitching coach.
Considering everything we will have going for the program and the fact recruiting is getting better and will continue to improve... John Cohen got this program back in the right direction and took us to higher heights then ever when we played for the National Championship.
Now anyone can rag on me for saying i believe Schloss can win a national championship at MSU... But i do believe it. Considering how much he achieved at tcu in the postseason with the limitations he had.

Come on Monday... This is the worst kept secret... And tcu likely hires a coach this weekend if not tomorrow I've heard.

Mississippi, first in paying college baseball coaches and building college baseball stadiums, last (or almost last) in virtually everything else.

Gary Patterson has a statue of himself on campus. How many more reasons do you need?
