I feel like we're in the infancy of a sports cultural shift that is getting sick and tired of the MAGA bro schtick.

Nobody wants see McAfee involved with college football. It is groan inducing to find out Trump is attending a game somewhere. People are tired of Herbstreit and his dog. No one want to hear Stephen A. Smith's takes on football. Portnoy is basically just a villain at this point. Sports media has shrunken their talent pool in favor of amplifying a few clown characters and shoving them in our face 24/7. At least Fox was smart enough to kick Barstool off their show.

Sports commentary as we know it has practically run its course. Nothing but hot takes begging for engagement. It's just not interesting or entertaining anymore.

It's already starting to move to YouTube. People would automatically rather go to YT for highlights than watch Sports Center, etc.

And every major team, college or pro, has multiple YouTubers, many of whom will live-stream during the game, and you can find the one that suits your personality the best, rather than whatever the boomers that run ESPN think the yutes want to hear.

The only McAfee I want to hear a commentary from is John, and he supposedly "hung" himself in a Spanish prison.

Yep this is me. We taught our kids to not do the Pledge of Allegiance in class starting in Kinder and while it was weird for the teacher, kids didn't mind. I told them just stand and be silent, don't make a big deal, don't bring attention to yourself, and don't judge anyone else for wanting to do the Pledge (to US and Texas). It's considerably easy to practice religious freedom if you aren't always trying to make everything about yourself, you extend grace and are tolerant to individual beliefs, and mind your own dang business.

Then the article just goes on to have some random thoughts from random fans who don't like him. Which doesn't at all prove the headline. I don't like him at all from what I've seen, but I don't watch any college pregame stuff and barely watch college sports at all these days. But if he boosts ratings then it would seem he stays. Yeah I haven't watched college pregame shows for years. The era of SEC dick sucking killed it for me.

It was cool at first becausre way back in the day you basically knew jack and shit about teams from around the country, the local media only reported on your local team. So in the 1990s to suddenly have people telling you about Iowa and Washington State or whatever was new and cool. Now I am just a few clicks away from following Iowa as if I live in...um...wherever town the University of Iowa is located. So once it stopped being entertaining they pretty much had no value.
