Absolutely. We've already had journalists arrested. You all probably saw the news about AP caving to RW outrage and firing reporter Emily Wilder. UNC denied tenure to the 1619 author. Free press and academia have been targets for some time now in the US. It will get much much worse. The Hollywood blacklist gets a lot more coverage than the academic ones with their loyalty oaths from the 50s.

Didn't the mom kill herself and the son is completely estranged from everyone?

Is there a GQP greeting card for something like that?

It's easy to grin, when your unplanned fetus comes in and you've got mental illness beat.

But the son worthwhile is the man who can smile

When his mom's blown her head off her feet.

i mean i didn't want to laugh at this. but i did.

Don’t ever forget - ALL Republicans want the same ends they just disagree on the means.

Cheney wants her minority rule in a more palatable and polite package.

Should probably be its own thread:

From the article, at the end:

Quote

Duncan, who was in Washington D.C. last week to take meetings about GOP 2.0 (he declined to say with whom) said he believed the party would come around: “They’re just going to get tired of losing. They’re going to get tired of running people out there that just are unelectable.”

That's just bs. They aren't going to get tired of anything. Talk to Lukashenko of Belarus. Belarus held elections, numerous times. Many elections. The BEST elections. The GQP is going to use him as their example. It's what they've been planning for years. Once they are in, you're never getting them out.

I'm putting this here instead of the Rudy thread. On the surface it looks like it is about Rudy, but it is really a harsh indictment of what is to come if the GQP has no roadblocks.

If you don't want to watch the video, then just read the long twitter thread:

More disruption....something's going down. My random speculation is that it's getting overwhelmed by Trump's RNC takeover? @Bateshorn--any insight?

Overwhelmed may not be the right word, tidal waved? kicked off the block? Made irrelevant?

Anyone here represented by Rep Michael McCaul? He issued a statement regarding Belarus yesterday. I have not found a lot condemnation by the GOP overall, but he is the lead Republican on the House FAC.

"Great to speak with President Trump to discuss the future of Texas and how we are keeping up the fight to put America first. I appreciate the words of encouragement and support. Big things coming soon!"

Fucking.  Pathetic.  He's even adopted the communication style of DOTUS.  That exact tweet could have come from DOTUS's fat fingers (except plug in some other MAGAT's name for "President Trump").  This is where the GQP is, is heading, and wants to go.  A party of, by, and for toddlers.

Isn't George P. the son of Jeb?  I believe Jeb has come out in the past very staunchly against Dotard.

Didn't have a phone, so I couldn't snap a pic, but I was just behind a car with a "TRUMP *IS* PRESIDENT" sticker.

And it also had a Semper Fi sticker.

So how the hell does that play out when Paxton has been sucking orange cock for years already. Does he just ask them to be co-AG?

next person who tells you that, you should remind them that means he can't run again in 2024, if true

It's the GQP primary.   Whoever stimulates the orange cock the hardest wins.  GQP out front shoulda told ya.

Jeb holds no office and is a fat loser.  George wants to be POTUS

I honestly do not think another Bush will ever be elected to national office.

I agree.  I'm not offended by George P's presence here.  He'd say Trump-y enough stuff to not get DQ'd by the nuts that control the party, but he'd be much saner than anyone else the R's are talking about putting up.

He'll SAY Trumpy enough stuff.  And if he elected, he'll DO Trumpy enough stuff.  Because that is the only way you 1) win office and 2) keep that office in GQP-land.

It's not any more complicated than that.  These people have zero principles or beliefs of their own.

So the price of gas when no one was driving was lower than now that everyone is starting to drive again?
But SOCIALISM!!!

Also gas lines caused by Colonial and the resulting panic buying is clearly related to Keystone and our dependence on foreign oil. Mind bottling.

What could have been going on this time last year?  I can't imagine.

Now comp those against 2019.

Do these folks that retweet these memes even Kroger Fuel Point? I paid $2.00 this weekend.

Considering how much the prior Administration played with the markets, gas would've been around $8.00 coming out of this pandemic.

That is her personal account. She's too cowardly to put it on her official account as far as I could see when I scrolled through there.

Most of the GQP have a Puritan in the front, Party in the rear policy.

Had a Qtard tell me that he was so excited for the point when Biden goes in front of the nation and pulls off his mask to show he was Trump all along. After I got over my shock of the stupidity, I asked if that meant he was a full supporter of the current administration then? He took a few seconds to think and was like, Yeah!

Is that face swap rumor still going around Qnon?

One person told me that, granted it was over a zoom, months and months ago.  I pretended that I thought the technology existed (Game of Thrones style) to switch faces.  But that the real challenge would be Biden is 4 inches shorter than Trump, and Trump outweighs him by around 100 pounds.  That's not gonna be easy to switch.

Now really. The Charlie and the Chocolate factory movie we watch every time it's on has the technology--just put ol 45 in the Augustus Gloop machine and he'll come out like Flat Stanley. Easy peasy.

It's not like 45 doesn't blend in already with the Oompa Loompas, either.

This is actually genius. It’s like the counter propaganda version of Steven Seagal making some movie extra bad guy kick his own ass.
