1 - Of course it's happening here.

2 - And I'm not sure what's worse, the disengaged public that isn't up in arms about it, or the fact that it's being championed and facilitated by one of our two mainstream parties.

3 - along these lines, one of the most horrifying museum exhibits I've ever seen was in the German History museum in Berlin.  There's a whole section that covers the nazi period, from the first glimmer to the devastating collapse.  It is typically German: frank, honest, without any sugarcoating.  It tells the story as it occurred, with things like displays of actual newspapers and editorials from the time.  No bullshit, here's what was happening and the words that were actually said.  All four members of the family went through the exhibit (at different paces).  We all linked up outside afterwards, and every one of us had the same sentiment: it was the most terrifying exhibit we'd ever examined, because the exact same shit was happening back in the US, in the present day.  The parallels are as subtle as a sledgehammer.

Time for the rest of us to fight back with similar lack of subtlety.

What's really fuct up about it is that Soviet communism was a real, actual threat in prewar Germany and Nazism positioned itself as an opposing alternative.

While the narratives are the same, the threat here is entirely fictitious.

Can anyone splain to me the thing about Jesus’ wound from the spear in his ribs changing his gender?

There’s a twit-thread on the LBGTQ+ thread that gives the background on this. If I understand it correctly, the soldier piercing Christ’s side after His death was a very powerful image for Europe’s “movers and shakers,” back in the day. The wound itself became a common focal point/motif in paintings, to the point of anatomical detail. Philosophically, the wound was likened to the birth canal to heaven for folks who were saved by Christ.

The transgender reference came from a description of God as all genders and also no gender.

All the above is traced back to a sermon, supposedly, that somehow went viral.

(This post is to put the answer to your question down for posterity. I’ve no doubt, Mr Duck, you already know this).

Damn.  I'm fucked.

Or…maybe that’s how we get the demons OUT. Didja think of THAT, smart Christian lady?
That makes the average Surlster among the worlds most prolific exorcists.

An R) after the name is all some* people need.
*Folks who buy kneepads in bulk.

Once you understand that every Republican - and everyone who still votes for them - supports a fascist overthrow of the US government, it all fits.

How many signatures do we need to get to actually get A. Hitler (R) as a candidate some local office?  My bet is he actually wins in a red county.

Which one if you wants to legally change your name and run?

I’m not sure what motivation is worse for this guy: being afraid to even criticize much less renounce Trump, or actually believing what he’s saying.

And seriously, her Anti-Witchcraft argument, with mentions of curses placed or canceled, and binding enemies, actually sounds exactly like witchcraft. I bet she's popped off a "blessed be" in a room full of candles herself.

If chronic masturbaters could practice witchcraft/wizardry…wouldn’t they just cast a spell for some pussy/oral sex instead of shamefully chaffing themselves to damnation?  I would gladly have traded some awkwardly sticky tissues growing up for knowledge of my powers.

Fucking fuck, Sean.  I had to explain today to my 7 year old and she understood it straight away.  She even liked the part where I told her her great-grandfather rode the train to Great Lakes Naval Station in Chicago the next morning to enlist in the Navy...along with thousands of other Americans.  But for some reason, she somehow knew it wasn't a base in Northern France, but rather on Lake Michigan.  And she's not a Naval Reserve Officer.  How are the mentally retarded still in positions of influence?

Republican, Florida state rep. “State Rep. Joseph Harding obtained more than $150,000 in SBA loans by lying on his loan applications, according to a news release from the Justice Department. Prosecutors allege Harding listed dormant business entities on his applications, fabricated the numbers of people he employed and submitted fake bank statements.

Harding, 35, is set to go to trial for charges of wire fraud, money laundering, and making false statements, DOJ said in the release. A wire fraud conviction carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, while money laundering and making false statements carry a maximum of 10 and five years, respectively.”

you know he’s guilty because this is his office’s response: “I want the public and my constituents to know that I fully repaid the loan and cooperated with investigators as requested,” Harding told the Times.
