Looks like it only applies to federal employees.

In other news, Bobby DeNiro gets it and clapbacks against some dipshit MAGAt who dares to call Capitol Police like Michael Fanone who tried to defend the Capitol on J6 "traitors" today in NYC.

DeNiro might “get it,” but his response was 100% weak sauce, conceding “I don’t know how to deal with you.” Kinda pathetic, actually.

And this is the problem. Almost no one in pop culture and the media can believe or properly idenity what they are seeing.

What DeNiro should have said:

“You’re just another Fox News fascist who wants Trump to impose a violent Christian dictatorship so you can dominate and humiliate of women, people of color, gay communities, educators, and medical workers.  You and your Christian fascists are the threat to America democracy. These Capitol officers were there to stop you. Now get the hell out of here."

But, alas, DeNiro was completely out of his league.

There's more to it elsewhere. He fired off a "Fuck you" at somebody as well. It was pretty good. Also called MAGAts "gangsters."

Here's more after he stepped away from the podium.

Good? So we got a Democrat movie star who glorified gangsters calling the Trumpers “gangsters.” Lulz.

I guess we can blame the simulation.

Yeah, I love that DeNiro is taking a stand, but I kinda wish he would've used a different word than "gangsters." The MAGAts will just take that as a compliment.

kind of pussy is laughable, .  He happily went full NYC on those people who had him and his escorts outnumbered 10-1.

So what?

DeNiro "went full NYC” and called them the “gangsters” he glorifies and said “Fuck You.” …. That I am supposed to be super-impressed just shows how low the bar is for political “critique."

MAGA is going “full fascist and Christian theocrat” across America and I am supposed to be wowed by DeNiro’s hot take? Better than nothing, I guess.

By the way Beaver, I never said DeNiro was a “pussy.” I said he was out of his intellectual league.

And he is.

Assuming you're referencing Goodfellas or perhaps Casino with this comment, but if you think either movie glorified gangsters or organized crime you're a fucking idiot.

WTF, dude?  The Dems have needed to call out the Republicans' bullshit for decades, and when one does it, you clutch pearls?  GTFO of here with that shit.

Oh, and I'm supposed to care about how his film roles might reflect (or not) on his social views?  Wow, hot take indeed.

I’m sure MAGA loves this:

Libertarians believe that if someone is peaceful, they should be welcome to immigrate to the United States.

Libertarians believe that people should be able to travel freely as long as they are peaceful. We welcome immigrants who come seeking a better life. The vast majority of immigrants are very peaceful and highly productive.

Indeed, the United States is a country of immigrants, of all backgrounds and walks of life…some families have just been here for more generations than others. Newcomers bring great vitality to our society.

A truly free market requires the free movement of people, not just products and ideas.

Whether they are from India or Mexico, whether they have advanced degrees or very little education, immigrants have one great thing in common: they bravely left their familiar surroundings in search of a better life. Many are fleeing extreme poverty and violence and are searching for a free and safe place to try to build their lives. We respect and admire their courage and are proud that they see the United States as a place of freedom, stability, and prosperity.

Of course, if someone has a record of violence, credible plans for violence, or acts violently, then Libertarians support blocking their entry, deporting, and/or prosecuting and imprisoning them, depending on the offense.

Libertarians do not support classifying undocumented immigrants as criminals. Our current immigration system is an embarrassment. People who would like to follow the legal procedures are unable to because these procedures are so complex and expensive and lengthy. If Americans want immigrants to enter through legal channels, we need to make those channels fair, reasonable, and accessible.

I'm not clutching any pearls … I think you need to look to June Cleaver for that, Beav.

I first quoted DeNiro'a own words to the heckler: “I don’t know what to do with you.”

— By DeNiro’s own admission, he did not know what to say. All that’s left is “gangster” and "fuck you.”

— Like I also said, that’s a low bar for political counter arguments. Better than nothing, it seems. I guess that supposed “NY" tough talk impresses peeps and grandpas living in the Texas burbs.

— For the last 25+ years, my career has me smack in the middle of the urban downtown section of a massive multi-ethnic city (not in Texas) and someone saying “You’re a Gangster” is very much a compliment, as remarked by the poster above. Hell, I have had millennials call me “OG" (Original Gangsta) as a compliment during intellectual discussions. We laugh about it! In the big city, “gangster” ain't a giant take down, even though DeNiro meant it that way.

— And, yes, those two movies do glorify gangsters, even though the producers/directors will say the films don’t. As taught in any film school, there are multilevel or multilayered readings of films. That’s why people love films for various reasons. Up your film game dude.

—  I’m out on this discussion. Apparently, we can’t criticize or analyze a beloved film icon’s statement using his own words.

As for Trump-MAGA-GQP, we’re dealing with a Christian fascist theocratic takeover of democratic secular society. That’s a fact.

“Gangster” and “fuck you” ain’t gonna cut it.

If that’s calling out “Republican Bullshit,” then we are indeed screwed!

This is beyond the absurd at this point.  We couldn't manufacture this shit if we had all of us, 100 years, and a kilo of blow.  And he's actually gaining more traction with female voters.

Yeah, that SHOULD be what they believe (free movement of labor), but they don't.

So, like a lot of Texas Bar discipline, this is "compulsory" (no or little discretion) for having been convicted of a felony.  Although it is styled as a "suspension," she must reapply for admission after three years, which is not an automatic deal by any stretch.

Sidney Powell pled guilty to misdemeanors in Georgia.  But, these are the type of misdemeanors that should also result in suspension from the Texas Bar in a similar fashion to Ellis.  Although the Texas Bar fucked the dog on proving her knowing misrepresentation of fact to a tribunal, she will have a lot less wiggle room on any proceeding here.

And here we go: https://www.newsweek.com/donald-trump-hush-money-verdict-maga-civil-war-1906671

Quote

Make America Great Again (MAGA) activists have warned there could be "civil war" in response to Donald Trump's guilty verdict in his hush money trial on Thursday.

Trump supporters have reacted with anger after the former president was found guilty on all 34 charges of falsifying business records over $130,000 worth of payments to former adult film star Stormy Daniels to keep an alleged affair between them secret ahead of the 2016 election. Trump denies any wrongdoing and claims the case is politically motivated.

Writing on X, formerly Twitter, political commentator Joey Mannarino wrote: "The Civil War just began. We no longer live in a democracy."

In another post he added: "As of today, with this fake guilty verdict against Trump, America is no longer the United States.

A supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump wears a MAGA ring as he attends a Super Tuesday election night watch party at Mar-a-Lago Club in Palm Beach, Florida, on March 5, 2024. MAGA activists... More PHOTO BY CHANDAN KHANNA/AFP VIA GETTY IMAGES

"We are a third-world sh**hole heading for a Civil War."

Amid escalating tensions between Republicans and Democrats, Trump supporters have repeatedly suggested that if he doesn't win the 2024 election there will be a civil war.

Some Trump supporters have also shown a propensity for violence in the past, most notably when the U.S. Capitol was stormed on January 6, 2021, to protest the results of the 2020 election.

Speaking to Newsweek, Todd Landman, a professor of political science at the School of Politics and International Relations at the University of Nottingham in the U.K., said there could be "a backlash" to the verdict "that involves violence."

"The verdict was quite a lightening bolt last night," he said. "For many it was a vindication and a demonstration of accountability. For others, it was an example of political persecution spearheaded by the Democrats.

"Supporters of Mr. Trump are outraged and are lashing out at the justice system, particularly that of New York. It is not unreasonable to expect a backlash that involves violence, particularly against some of the protagonists in the Manhattan trial. Targeted violence in the first instance could lead to a wider conflagration across the United States involving highly polarized actors. My sincere hope is that this is not the case."

Trump will be sentenced by Judge Juan Merchan on July 11 and could face substantial fines or jail time.

However, Trump's legal team has already indicated plans to appeal the verdict.

"This was a disgrace. This was a rigged trial by a conflicted judge who was corrupt," Trump said outside the courtroom following the verdict.
