that's just it.   by being a lowlife shitbag who loudly says exactly what he thinks without filter, Trump has given Republicans everywhere permission to say publicly what they have been thinking and saying behind closed doors, and amongst themselves, for decades - the racism, the sexism, the xenophobia, the homophobia, and the hatred of anyone or anything "other" or different than the white, hypocritical, fake christians that they are.

it's exactly this.

king is getting busted by mccarthy for speaking his truth outside the boardroom.

this due had a fucking confederate flag on his desk for quite some time. as pointed out above, he's a fucking iowa rep.

he's a racist fuck who has not been subtle in the past, but he's only just now getting shit because he said there's nothing wrong with white supremacy. this isn't his first fucking rodeo.

he's been speaking in dog whistles for more than a decade. he just got too bold for the establishment. he's been talking about how immigrants water down "western civilization" for years, and he's been flirting with far-right nationalists from europe for years, including marine le pen. this guy is a fuckstick, and he's a known quantity.

Quote

The commissioner, Anabelle Lima-Taub, of Hallandale Beach, signed an online petition last week calling for Tlaib's removal, according to a photo of her Facebook post that was published by the Sun Sentinel.

"Proudly signed," she wrote. "A Hamas loving anti-Semite has NO place in government! She is a danger and would not put it past her to become a martyr and blow up Capitol Hill."

This is what passes for being a monstrously brave Republican.

Still, kudos to Will Hurd representing his constituents and for not being Cruz/Cornyn:

I'd vote for that ticket. It's a shame that Hurd flies so low under the radar despite being one of the few non-Trump Republicans in Congress. Considering he is not just an aggy but their former student president, it's amazing that he hasn't jumped on the trump train.

The man served in intelligence, including a dangerous post in Afghanistan.  He's not a traitor.

But seriously, the guy who voted to end DACA, voted to keep DREAMers out of the military... that's the guy we need to be sanity and centrism to the nation.

Everything was fine right before Trump got elected. Everything was good. We just need to go back to that.

Then what did to mean, Jason?

A Smith aide said the four-term lawmaker intended the comment as a shot at House Democrats over their 30-member jaunt to Puerto Rico last weekend — an event that got heavy coverage in the conservative media — rather than an attack on any minority lawmakers.”

Dems should incorporate DC and PR next cycle they have house and senate,

I have a friend who once ran for DC shadow senator who is still connected into DC politics and he told me that DC is definitely planning to reapply for statehood in 2021. He doesn't think they will get approval from both houses even if the Democrats hold the majority.

That, my friends, is a man who has sprained his wrist more than once masturbating to gay porn while simultaneously crying in shame.

NTTAWWT.  You do you, man.

What's amazing is how much he looks like this man, Carl "Robbie" Martin, West Virginia Representative:

West Virginia currently has a 200 million dollar budget surplus. Mr. Robbie introduced a bill to use 10 million dollars of that surplus to pay for the border wall.  I'm sure that West Virginia doesn't have any other unmet needs that that money could be better spent on.

Texas could not give both Beto and Hurd their electoral votes.

What? That's a pretty fucking stupid observation.  They would be on the same ticket.  Texas could vote for the Beto-Hurd ticket and, if the Beto-Hurd ticket won the majority of  Texas votes, they would get Texas' electoral votes.

Nope. The electors of the home state cannot give their votes to 2 candidates from the same state. That’s why Cheney had to change his residency to Wyoming. Bush would have won Texas 32 votes but Cheney would not have.  Electors do actually cast 2 votes - one for Pres and one for VP.

Read the 12th amendment bro.

Congrats, pubs, you just lost an entire generation supporting a giant orange hobgoblin. You cowards.

Would this were anything but a dream.

After Trump is gone, younger Republicans will rise up and claim that they are going to renew the vital spirit of the TRUE Republican party. Centrists will rejoice at the call of the savior of the normal order, and support will swell for the Republicans once again.

In this thread we have supposed GOP-haters championing a ticket with a centrist Dem at the top and a Republican as VP.

These people are mad at Trump for breaking norms and being gross. As soon as a norms-reinforcing decent human wears the Republican crown, they will come back home to the GOP.

As long as the GOP gets reshaped to become a party that (1) no longer slavishly supports free trade, (2) abandons neoconservative foreign policy and embraces a semi-isolationist stance and (3) limits both legal and illegal immigration, getting blown out next election because Cheeto dick is incompetent will be worth it. We will have smarter people run who can excite the base in a more refined style. Guys like Ron DeSantis will be coming up the pipeline. Driving out the neoconservative Bush war criminal element from the GOP has me very excited about the future of the Party.

And it won't even be new politicians. It'll be the same racist fuck Trumpers from safe seats in racist fuck Trump states who just quiet down the racism a little bit and pretend that they always had reservations about Trump and his brand of politics and tried their best to carve out a different path.

Jesus man. I wouldn't have even accused you of thinking DeSantis was smart. You're truly impossible to parody.

Yep. And the cycle will happen again ending in a Great Depression, Watergate, or Trump only to be reborn again.

The cycle of the GOP can’t be stopped.  They will always be the party of the 1% convincing poor suckers that they’re protecting them from big government while they rob their children of healthcare, education, opportunity, and environment.
