I'm still waiting for that taco truck on every corner. That'd be great.

Come to my hood in south central Austin where that is a glorious reality.

You serious Clark? Voting in 2020 is easy. Vote for every single Democrat. Every. Single. One.

Some of y’all would have take a stand against Hitler but convinced yourself that maybe those down ballot guys Goering and Himmler aren’t all bad.

I printed out my ballot today so I could go through and figure out what races I needed to study up on.  To read more about the more local/non-partisan races I will turn to a variety of resources.  One of those is the Austin Chronicle's endorsements.  I don't always follow their endorsements, but they do a fair job of at least explaining a thought process for their picks, something the Stonewall Democrats of Austin fails at.  In any case, I thought their write up about this endorsement period was pretty spot on.

Partisan Races: The Democrats

Surprise! No, seriously, this needs to happen. If the court decision reviving straight-ticket voting (as of this writing stayed at the appellate level) becomes unstayed by the time you vote, you can save some time. But you need to do it.

Election results for most of the Chronicle's history have told us that most Austinites are prepared to do this without our recommendation. But many of you do carp about it, preferring to think of yourself as independent voters, or (legitimately) feeling the Democratic Party takes your support for granted as it gestures toward the center. In other election cycles, we have entertained the thought that some GOP incumbents might not be that bad, or Democratic candidates not all that great, and been less adamant about the imperative to vote-blue, no-matter-who.

There aren't such choices on your ballot this year – there are, sadly, some unopposed candidates who should not be. In any event, now is not the time for contemplating a pragmatic bipartisanship, let alone abstaining from the vote, when our house is on fire. The decadent and depraved Republican regime, in D.C. and at our own Capitol, is actively destroying lives and communities and fortunes and futures for no good reason, and elevating juvenile posturing and bullshit to the place where the party used to have values that one could acknowledge even when not sharing them. It's not even succeeding at its time-tested mission of securing the wealth and power of white America anymore; nothing it does can or should be used as a model for how we should govern ourselves.

Delaware, huh? Wife's aunt and uncle voted for Trump in 2016 a big reason was The Wall (remember The Wall? LOL). They were so worried about illegal immigrants. They live in Ohio... Toledo, Ohio.

Ahh...Delaware.   Remember when Christine O'Donnell was the craziest political candidate we thought we'd ever seen.

so today alone, our two republican senators from the state of texas have:

  • asked why no one was wearing masks from a picture taken in 2018
  • in front of the senate judiciary committee, made an impassioned plea to deny voting rights to the deceased felon charles manson

is there a state that has two worse senators than we do?

GOP trying to make sure they never have any kind of power in California.  And reinforcing the notion that if Trump doesn't like you, fuck you no matter how much you contribute to the rest of the nation.

https://www.cnn.com/2020/10/15/politics/trump-california-fire-disaster-assistance/index.html

Quote

The Trump administration has rejected California's request for a disaster declaration for six destructive wildfires that burned hundreds of thousands of acres across the state, including a massive central California wildfire that has become the single largest in state history.

"The request for a Major Presidential Disaster Declaration for early September fires has been denied by the federal administration," Brian Ferguson, a spokesperson for the Governor's Office of Emergency Services, confirmed to CNN. The state plans to appeal the decision.

The denial comes after California Gov. Gavin Newsom requested financial aid from the federal government in a September 28 letter to the Trump administration outlining the financial impact of the wildfires.

Writing that infrastructure damage estimates exceeded $229 million, Newsom asserted that "federal assistance is critical to support physical and economic recovery of California and its communities."

"The longer it takes for California and its communities to recover, the more severe, devastating, and irreversible the economic impacts will be," he said.

The logic of this attention whore is incredible- "I'm back on Twitter because it's a blight on society" makes about as much sense as "I'm going to show this lung cancer who's boss by smoking 5 more packs a day".

Man, I've got some relatives that are scared shitless of a Biden win.  It's like they were black-out drunk during the Obama years, and can't remember a time when a Republican wasn't in the WH.

Tell them that I have a wonderful Antifa/MS13 insurance package that I would love to sell them

This is not a bad idea.  One of them does have a sidearm that I'm rather fond of.

Seriously though, just like they were worried we'd be brainwashed by heavy metal and Dungeons and Dragons, and we'd be radicalized by internet porn and cyber criminals and stuff, and here they are being brainwashed and radicalized by former reality TV show hosts and airheads on Fox News.

"My thoughts and prayers go out to you for the loss of your dear family member. Even though no one could have expected this tragedy, we have an embalmer and makeup artist who specializes in those who have died from attacks by face-eating leopards and we will have your loved one looking like he did before 2020 when Joe Biden allowed so many leopards to roam free over our beautiful suburbs. And of course, for a modest fee, we could also cover your loved one's face in a classic orange tanning cream to honor our Dear Leader. Or if you would like, we could apply the cream only to his lips."

Or that they've known who Joe Biden is for decades.

Doubtful, at least outside of his home state.  Biden struck plenty of people as a bland white guy, and prior to Obama, his biggest national profile was....2008 and running against Obama and Hillary (doubt most people could name 2 other candidates besides Obama and Hillary, running for the Dem nomination in 2008).

Wow, she's amazing.  I could never date her though.  Holy shit, if you let her down in bed.  She would utterly destroy your self-confidence.

"Why did you let me down?  What were you thinking?  Did you think you were actually a man?  Was there something in your past that made you think you were capable of handling me instead or making a complete fool out of yourself?  Do other women who know you, realize how pathetic you are?"

His biggest national profile was being a Senator for almost 40 years. If you're not a young person and you managed not to have any exposure to Joe Biden during his Congressional career then you've never followed politics even casually. I don't know which category your family members fall into but anyone with any life experience has never had any cause to believe Biden is some kind of radical leftist.

I want her to interview Graham and Collins (and <fingers crossed> McConnell) on November 5th

"so it was purely political ambition. You sold your soul for political ambition...."

I heart her so much.

It's crazy to me that rather than examining their life choices and simply switching to a strategy of telling the truth, they instead want to use government force to require private property owners to allow others to lie on their property.

They might have had some sort of argument if they would've allowed the internet to continue to be considered a public utility, but they got rid of that.  So, their only semi-coherent argument for bringing in government force is that it's the public square and free speech trumps all has already been 86'ed.

Can’t wait for Jan 21 when all of the social media sites ban trump. Imagine the silence if he can only go on Fox News. And something tells me even hannity won’t want trump on every night.

Before dotard ran for potus and was elected, I'd read exactly zero tweets from him.   I never watched a single minute of his stupid reality show.  He was nowhere on my radar.  I CANNOT wait for this fat fuck to be out of my daily existence.

That will only stoke the flames of the modern day gnostics and true believers, who will point to it as evidence of the conspiracy against the truth.
