Finally got around to showing the 11 y/o the Three Amigos and I swear I've never heard him laugh as much during a movie, maybe in any 100 minute window of his life, than that movie. I've seen it a billion times but to see him watch it for the first time ever was incredible.

He wants to teach the 5 year old the amigo salute.

He wanted to run it back tonight and watch another comedy similar to that, any ideas on what I could introduce him to? We watched Bill and Ted, which he liked but figured there gotta be other options. Mentioned earlier he is a huge horror fan but not sure if there are "age appropriate comedies" for him before I turn him loose on the Porkys, Hardbodies, revenge of the nerds movies.

Flipping around last night, I caught about the last 3/4 ths of Lethal Weapon. Movie holds up well. Danny Glover steals the show. Now I want to rewatch Predator 2.

Lethal Weapon 2 was on after. Doesn't hold up. Couldn't make it through the first chase scene.

Great movie, but subtitled.   See it if you get a chance.  I expect it'll end up on Netflix or some other streaming service.

Emilia Perez. The acting was great, especially Zoe Saldana and Karla Sofia Gascon, but I didn't love it overall because of the musical thing. I'm not really into musicals in general, but I heard great things about this movie and wanted to check it out. It'll get a lot of awards, but it wasn't for me.

My daughter wanted me to watch it with her because Selena Gomez was in it.  We both enjoy musicals so that wasn’t a problem for us.  I will say that the musical aspects we not your typical movie musical components. The majority of the movie was in Spanish with subtitles which I thought would cause my daughter to lose interest, but it really seemed to help keep her interest.  I’m not sure that I can say that I really enjoyed the move, but more that I found it really fascinating and interesting.  I was very surprised that it held my daughter’s interest for the entire movie and it also sparked some discussion between us.  On the whole, I’m glad we watched it and would recommend it.

Also, Zoe (who also plays the head of the Lioness Program) is very watchable.

Not your typical Selena Gomez vehicle, but I thought she was great in it.

My teenage kids convinced me to go see Smile 2 with them at the theater.  Great flick that is as much psychological thriller and pop culture commentary as it is a horror movie.  Has a telegraphed but still pretty devastating ending.
