This movie was fantastic.  Spirited Away meets Bambi meets Watership Down meets Apocalypse Now meets I don't know what the fuck.

Emotional as hell.  I don't want to read  about it for fear of the explanation being something I can understand.  It felt like deja vu, and maybe mortality or immortality.

No words.

Gummie free.  Flashback to 'shroom experience is the only explanation I have.

Did you see it?  Maybe it's my age but I just accepted that it was some kind of allegory or metaphor or something or other and it really got my brain, and my head, and my mind going. The imagery was really beautiful and frightening at the same time.

Plus the cat reminded me of our little minpin dog.

The Long Goodbye (1968)

highly recommended

Like a date on a perfect Spring night with a good-looking girl where everything goes better than expected. Robert Altman directed, just right all around with Elliot Gould as PI Philip Marlowe and Sterling Hayden, MLB Jim Bouton, the lovely lithe, bronzed and blonde Nina Van Pallandt (still alive!), a cast of good fits and an orange tabby cat 🐈 who stole the show.  Music works, too.

Quite a different movie than what Steamboat just watched. This never fails to make me laugh. It’s just pure silliness. Also, Kristine DeBell was extremely cute even a few years after her film debut in the porno Alice In Wonderland and her being the cover model for Playboy in April 1976.

shooter. now this is a popcorn flick. most of the people around here have bastardized the term “popcorn flick” to simply refer to every terrible, unwatchable action movie, but this one actually meets the definition. it’s cheesier than hell (the two main characters are nick memphis and bob lee swagger? everyone in the movie besides markie mark has a deep south or appalachian accent? the hot chick speaks like a ranch hand from the late 19th century? so many unintentional laugh out loud moments), but the story is fun enough and interesting enough to keep you going. it’s a good movie to throw on tv on a sunday afternoon.
