Private jet crashes at Bangor Airport with 8 on board, FA...

A photo taken at the scene shows smoke rising from the runway. There were also numerous reports of a loud bang that was heard and felt in the area.

Not much word, but doesn’t sound good. For those of you not in the law world, Arnold & Itkin names are on the DKR scoreboard.

I wouldn't think anyone other than Jason or Kurt gets to fly on that plane, but what do I know?

I think anyone on a litigation team could be on it. I'm not sure what they had going in Maine.

#10

Other speculation I'm seeing online is the plane was stopping in Maine to refuel before crossing the Atlantic.

They have other planes. I doubt anyone would get sent on their C600. But again, what do I know?

what the fuck? you think that they own a plane but wouldn't use it because they have other planes?

that makes zero sense.

That's some tall cotton right there.

I think the implication is that this is the flagship of their fleet that tends to be reserved for their personal travel.

Exactly. A few years back I was on the same side of a case with some lawyers of theirs who had flown in on a Mustang.

This would have been the jet they sent to pick up Sark when he was hired.

Why were they in the NE in a shittastic snowstorm?

Likely refueling before crossing the Atlantic.

#22

But would that jet need to refuel going to Europe. Wonder if they stopped for a problem

From Houston, yes. They would only get about halfway across the Atlantic.

Extremely common tech stop for trans Atlantic private flights. Everything here was SOP but the weather.

Their family does. I think Kurt’s wife may have been traveling this week. Prayers up for the family

I should have been clearer and included their family.

I don’t pretend to be a mega-rich lawyer smart, but even I could tell you that landing or taking off anywhere on the eastern seaboard north of somewhere in Florida this evening till tomorrow was a bad idea.

Just saw this. Longhorns all over that firm if I'm not mistaken. This is fucking terrible.

#33
Reports about the Arnold & Itkin plane crash tonight is terrible. If you are a reporter in Houston for any amount of tine, you know the firm and the partners. Just devastating as we wait for all the facts to come out.

this was the plane that brought Sark to Austin when he was hired.

Those Runway condition codes 3/3/3 would get my attention, but not convinced that was a cause unless they were slipping and sliding on the roll and hit a ditch and flipped at full power. We'll know soon enough.

where are you seeing this?

I have a buddy that flies a challenger out of atlanta. he looked into it through his pilot forums or whatever, I don’t know, but this is what he told me this morning. obviously unofficial but may be of interest to some.

Man, looks like they took off in heavy snow with a contaminated wing, and unfortunately that will kill you in a Challenger. They got de-iced, but it was snowing so hard that, by the time they got to the runway from the de ice pad, they exceeded their hold over time, and the wings weren’t clear anymore. You have to do a pre takeoff contamination check again. Two airlines returned to the gate for this exact reason (Alligent, and Breeze, they got de iced, then got to the runway, and were getting contaminated again) right before them. Damn, RIP

I’ve seen this in circles my friends and family are in - pilots. Not sure if true. Both said that it is plausible and logical.

I believe Dick Ebersol (if SNL producer fame) and his son survived a plane crash in Colorado on a Challenger back some years ago where ice/snow on the wings was the contributing factor

#47

Horiible. Icing and Challengers don't mix well from what I've heard.

Eastern most airport in the continental USA... grew up and went to high school playing Bangor Muni where the cargo planes would do touch-and-gos for training and their runway was DIRECTLY down the 14th hole. They would fly so low you'd have to cover your ears to not go deaf from the engine roar a hundred feet overhead. Of course we tried to hit mile-high wedges to see if we could get close...
