Currently Seattle -4.5

This is your friendly reminder that New England started the season 0-1 with a loss to the Las Vegas Raiders.

Seahawks also started 0-1 with a loss to the 49ers. First time in NFL history that two teams who started 0-1 made the Super Bowl.

A Pats win would be the first by a team who lost to the team with the #1 overall pick - the 1997 Packers lost to the Colts, made the Super Bowl, but lost to the Broncos

DICK HAMMER 😄,...

USC Basketball Final 4, '64 Tokyo Olympic's Volleyballer, First Captain of Emergency! (while also a real LA Fire Capt), THE Marlboro Man... Sam Darnold's Granddad.

Sam Darnold’s grandfather has some of the best lore in sports history 😭

This man went to the Final 4, The Olympics, was an actor, firefighter, and one of the most famous “mascots” in the world in the 1900s.

Josh Allen, Lamar Jackson, Sam Darnold and Baker Mayfield were all drafted in 2018.

Who would of thought Sam Darnold would be first in that class to get to a Super Bowl?

It's shocking what an amazing record New England achieved despite being so utterly fraudulent.

gotcha. And YES on the NE unis. Seattle, meh.

seems like NE has no chance so, do they win?

Unlikely. In order for NE to win the score has to be 17-14 or something. The Pats defense has played well but that seems like a tall order. Especially since Maye is probably going to be sacked at least 4 times and the Pats are probably going to turn it over multiple times.

I think it will be something like 31-7. Big Seahawk beat down.

Just no neon green pajama uniforms.

This is why I don't like the Seahawks, just because their uniforms are shit. I agree with the idea that both teams should play in their 1980s throwbacks.

Against:

The Chargers duct tape OL
CJ Stroud (lol)
Stidham

They haven't really "proved" themselves against a pretty weak postseason slate of offensive teams.

These two are among the biggest downgrades from the 1980s/90s. Could KIND of see changing Pat Patriot since it’s such a busy piece of work for a logo (although still awesome and better than Elvis), but the Seahawks were clean and perfect. We went through a real phase of hating non-muddy colors we haven’t pulled out of.

What? From 1993 until 2002 both the Pats and Seahawks were in the AFC. How did they never play once during that entire period? And they played twice in 1993? Bizarre. It was probably because of that weird 5th place schedule the NFL used to do.

The Super Bowl’s Biggest Loser: The New York Jets

No matter what happens between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, fans of Gang Green may want to look away.

No matter what happens between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots, fans of Gang Green may want to look away.

Andrew BeatonJan. 29, 2026 at 9:00 am

Then-Jets quarterback Sam Darnold struggled against the Patriots during his time in New York.

But no matter who wins, another team thousands of miles away is guaranteed to lose. That’s because Patriots-Seahawks is the one matchup designed specifically for the psychological torment of New York Jets fans.

The Jets, who haven’t reached the postseason since 2010, have the longest playoff drought of any team in the major American sports leagues. And the two teams playing for this year’s Lombardi Trophy are here to compound their misery.

The Patriots spent two decades gleefully bullying the Jets, led by Bill Belichickand Tom Brady. And even with those two gone, New England has pulled off the kind of rebuild that has repeatedly eluded New York. The Seahawks, meanwhile, are being led into this game by the quarterback who was once supposed to be the Jets’ savior—until they got rid of him.

Back in 2018, the Jets drafted quarterback Sam Darnold No. 3 overall, believing that they finally had a long-term answer under center. And although he turned the ball over too often, Darnold also demonstrated the rare type of playmaking ability that had made him one of the most sought-after prospects in the first place.

In classic Jets fashion, however, it didn’t take long for his tenure with the team to feel cursed. During his second season, Darnold became a punchline when he had to miss three games with mononucleosis, commonly referred to as the “kissing disease.” Later, during a disastrous game against the Patriots (of course) he was subject to more ridicule after microphones caught him saying he was “seeing ghosts” out on the field.

After Darnold’s third season, the Jets cut their losses. Armed with the No. 2 pick in the draft, they traded him to the Carolina Panthers. Then they used the selection to replace him with Zach Wilson, whose poor play ultimately led them to a failed experiment with Aaron Rodgers.

During that time, Darnold bounced around the league from Carolina to San Francisco to Minnesota, while rebuilding his profile. In 2024, he broke out and led the Vikings to 14 wins. And when Seattle signed him this past offseason, he didn’t miss a beat. Darnold finally proved he was the quarterback the Jets thought they had drafted.

But he isn’t the only former Jet whose career changed for the better after leaving New York. The Seahawks’ co-leader in sacks this season was Leonard Williams, the Jets’ first-round pick in 2015.

Still, those regrets pale in comparison to the headaches Gang Green has suffered simply by sharing a division with the Patriots. When Belichick quit as Jets head coach and took the job in New England, he wrote his resignation on a napkin. He then proceeded to post a 38-11 record over 24 seasons against the Jets, a spell that once included a 15-game winning streak. Outside of a single playoff victory 15 years ago, the Jets were powerless to stop the Belichick and Brady dynasty that produced six Super Bowl wins.

Even more excruciating to the Jets is that the Pats were never supposed to be this good right now. But their return to the brightest stage means that New England has won three Super Bowls, rebuilt the entire team, and made it back to another Super Bowl in the time since the Jets last reached the postseason. And they’ve done it by unearthing another MVP-caliber quarterback in Drake Maye, who has the potential to torture yet another generation of Jets teams.

Whatever happens in the Super Bowl, either Maye or Darnold is guaranteed to hoist the Lombardi Trophy—and add insult to injury for Gang Green.

Jets fans might be better off watching the commercials.

As far as I can tell, Longhorns involved are Murphy and Dickson for SEA, Schooler for NE. Wikipedia says Quandre is on Seattle’s practice squad right now, not sure if that’s true.

I'm pulling for Seattle because of Murphy, Diggs, and Dicko. Plus I sort of like their unis. I assume Seattle will probably donkey punch NE, but upsets happen. It will feel like a fever dream if Sam Darnold wins a SB.

The Jets will always be bottom-feeders in the league, with the occasional good season. It's pretty incredible how poorly run they have been for as long as they have been. Same with Cleveland. I kind of feel bad for Garrett Wilson, tbh. Myles Garrett can eat a dick after trying to use his helmet as a weapon and then lie about "racist" remarks instead of just owning up to it and apologize.

It's a shame, because I like Cleveland's unis and helmets, even if they're just orange. Jim Brown made the uniform look awesome af.

Anyone who’s followed the Seahawks for any period of time knows that: yes, the Seahawks have to be sold per Paul Allen’s estate (the funds will be used for his philanthropic endeavors). All his assets have/are being liquidated. The people dropping this now are just click bait whores.

I just can't justify spending that amount on Seattle vs NE when there's no Marshawn Lynch or Brady. Smith-Njigba is a great player, Kupp didn't live up to his billing, so outside of Seattle or NE fans, who wants to spend $5k-$30k to watch Sam Darnold vs Drake Maye and a NE team that is inferior talent-wise? Kenneth Walker III is...fine. I think Charbonnet is better overall, but he's injured, and neither are Beast Mode. They aren't worth the price of admission, I can tell you that as an outsider.

TreyVeyon Henderson is a fun watch, and Stefon Diggs is always good, even though he has taken a step down due to age. Outside of those two, I can't think of anyone else on the offense that is worth going to the SB just to say you went, when this isn't a star-studded lineup.

I’m rooting for the Seahawks. Obviously because I hate Massholes, but I don’t respect the Pat’s aggy like path to the Super Bowl.

  • Played one of the easiest schedules in NFL history. 3 regular season wins against teams with a winning record.

  • Of course they drew the hapless Chargers in Round 1.

  • The weather of course helped them against clueless CJ Stroud.

  • Sean Payton of course doesn’t take the points, and a blizzard slams into Mike High.

Well that and Denver was also forced to start Stidham at QB.

The Pats have no business in this game, which means I almost want to bet them on the moneyline......but fuck them, I just cant do it. I am surprised the line hasn't moved at all considering everything I read claims the total bet % AND the handle both favor seattle fairly strongly. Usually when the books don't move the line when an unbalanced amount of action is on one team, its because they are comfortable with the risk. It will be interesting to see if there is much line movement this week as we get closer to game time. This one just feels like a 27-13 type snoozer.
