With the massive success of Fallout, which is currently airing its second season, Amazon is hopeful that God of War will represent another hit based on a legacy video game title.

The show’s official description: “God of War follows father and son Kratos and Atreus as they embark on a journey to spread the ashes of his wife and mother, Faye. Through their adventures, Kratos tries to teach his son to be a better god, while Atreus tries to teach his father how to be a better human.”

God of War has already received a two-season order and is from acclaimed genre showrunner Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Outlander). Preproduction is underway in Vancouver.

This could end up being quite good if done right. The games are great. Casting so far has been promising: Mandy Patinkin as Odin, Ryan Hurst as Kratos.

That's a really good cast too. Love Teresa Palmer and glad to see her in this...Hurst is a nice choice as well.

Does Odin even have a father, and if so could he have been killed?

Borr

Yeah, I'm so in

Production not off to a great start. Hurst tore a bicep while filming and his recovery will take too long so they're going to have to recast Kratos (reportedly in talks with Dave Bautista) and do a bunch of re-shoots.

I thought I read they had only filmed 2-3 episodes so it wasn't a lot of work

Just slap some war paint on Christopher Judge, he IS Kratos

Bautista got too skinny
