The Cold War 2.0 or….

I Have no idea where to put this. Daily Texan? Cloak Room? Lulz?

I mentioned in one of our other threads that I believe the Cold War never ended. I guess I found something I agree with Nixon about (and it sure as fuck isn’t the war on drugs).

Are we witnessing a Russian psyop falling apart in real time? Or maybe it’s still going to plan?

I am somewhat joking, but some of the Epstein files about Putin and Russia seem rather interesting.

Regardless if that is al conspiracy theory crazy talk, it does seem like the USA, Russia, and China are about to divide the world into thirds. I always figured Trump traded Ukraine for Venezuela and as soon as chip manufacturing moves out of Taiwan, they are toast.

Would like to hear thoughts and musings from y’all. I know some of y’all find all this kind of interesting/terrifying and have interesting thoughts on it all (as seen in the global spring thread).

I promise, I am not high.

It all became a reality (of sorts) when Trump figgered out (& warned the syrup-eaters) that "Chiner was gonna make them quit playing hockey" & that's why they needed to give in & willingly become the 51st state.

I think it potentially had ended in the early 1990s, and in theory could have ended for good, or at least have shifted from US/Western Europe vs Russia/Soviet Union to US/Europe/Russia vs China.

But Putin was not going to let the game end and was going to use every trick in the book to keep stopping the clock.

Edit: And the irony is that if Putin had let the old way die and had fully embraced the West, he and Russia would probably be better off financially, and China is a plenty-big bogeyman for him to hold over the Russian people. Russia would be supplying Europe with as much gas/power as they could provide, just as one example (but there are plenty of other resources as well). He got too greedy though.

It does certainly seem that he is stuck in the old ways as well as the desire to recreate the empire, at least in part. I agree, he could have been embraced by the west, but he likely would have still been answering to the oligarchs. The Warsaw Pact isn't coming back without force. Well, I am sure Belarus is all in...

It seems like he is ok with Trump fucking around in Iran...but I am sure there is some play there as well.

1- He could have dealt with the Oligarchs by doing what he is doing now, nationalizing. They might be rich, but if he had let them leave and go live in Monaco or face a new Gulag for Economic Crimes Against the State (A USSR favorite) they would pack their Gucci dogs and get out of Russia. Instead he chose to use them and then gain power one by one. Remember, Russians play chess.

2- He may think he can take advantage of a weak Iran. Russia has always wanted it. They have invaded it. Since I do not think we will do the whole boots on the ground thing, he can replay the Great Game vs. GenX using his secret groups. I would not put it past him. Set it up so one of his "Liberal Socialists" becomes the new President, opens the door to Russia. He has played that game well in the Stans where the population is poor as shit and pretty much cut off from the west.

Plus another war does a few things. Distracts the US population a bit more and justifies for Trump to NOT send more support to Ukraine.
