Anyone catch the reboot? Seth Rogan's pet project hasn't skipped a beat. Hopefully it gets picked up. This world needs more Muppets.

I’m here for it, but I’m not sure Sabrina Carpenter is the right host.

She’s for sure a star, but she’s a star in the adult world. There’s no beating around the bush, her music is hyper sexual. Who is this for? Kids or nostalgic adults?

This isn't Sesame Street. It's the Muppets. There's always been a tinge of adult humor in it. A diva who is a pig wants to love a frog. You're not getting that on Sesame Street. Any Henson production had an element of adultness to it (Dark Crystal, Labyrinth). The idea is having something parents and kids can watch together. Most of the adult stuff flies over their heads, much like it did us when we were kids.

My first memory of The Muppets is from The Ed Sullivan Show. There was no Kermit, manamana.

What was the name of that movie where John Travolta instantly gets psychic powers?

My 10 year old loved it. Didn’t realize she knew who Sabrina Carpenter was. Islands in the Stream was a deep cut.

Good restart, hopefully we get more.

On the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, 98% of 45 critics' reviews are positive. The website's consensus reads: "It's time to play the music, it's time to light the lights -- this spirited return to The Muppet Show's roots is clever, earnest, and feels exactly right."[17] Metacritic, which uses a weighted average, assigned the film a score of 80 out of 100, based on 21 critics, indicating "generally favorable" reviews.

Here’s hoping it comes back.

Sucks that this is on Disney+. We already have too many streaming subscriptions and I don’t want to add another.

A gay frog, hoping to someday find his rainbow connection. So she will never have him.

And we didn’t call it that at the time but beeker is obviously autistic.

Well, if it follows the original show format, it will be revolving guest hosts. Is this possibly not just a one-off? Would love to see more Muppet Show content in the future.

I recorded it the other night on regular ABC. Will it not be on ABC in the future -- assuming there is a future?

I enjoyed it. But I'm a big muppets fan.

While I thought Sabrina Carpenter did a good job, but it did feel a bit odd, since she makes my pants tight.

I always thought its origins was as a mock variety show for adults. Not dirty necessarily, but not targeted to kids. That's where Sesame Street kicked in, and for my generation, the Muppet Babies. I've seen some of the old Muppet movies and it very much did not feel like it directed at kids. I didn't know this had started and I will tune in soon. I really liked the last reboot which was a sketch show but not in the format of the original Muppet Show, so I guess this one is going more with that feel. I'm in for it either way. My kids still love the Swedish Chef.

Prince was one of the best guests on the first reboot, and they totally leaned into his reputation. It was great.

Well damn didn’t realize it was a one off. Seems like a lot of work for one episode. Hopefully it gets picked up as a full series.

They have it up on YouTube, so they are promoting it pretty widely, which is good. I feel like it's got a shot - most critics seem happy, and Disney likes using their own IP.
