Peruvian joints

I didn’t see a thread for Peruvian. I am not well versed in a lot of Peruvian food beyond ceviche. Maybe 2 years ago I saw something on Instagram about this spot called Chick Houz. They specialize in rotisserie chicken, but have some beef dishes too. My wife and I love this place. It’s simple food that tastes good. Nothing fancy. But the black beans are the best I have had in Texas and reminds us of Brazil. Also, you can substitute French fries for fried yucca. So good when crispy (if they seem soggy you can throw in a toaster oven for a few minutes). Churros are good too. My wife usually gets the A Lo Pobre bowl. The red hot sauce is tasty. Forgot to take pics of the food tonight, but can see plenty on Google. They have three locations in the burbs. So this isn’t for the snobby inside the loop dorks.

Lomo saltado is one of my favorite dishes. Between that and ceviches, I celebrate the Peruvian catalogue.

I almost ordered it tonight. I can’t vouch for how good they make it. Next time.

One of my favorite Peruvian-Chinese dishes. Honestly that’s how I evaluate most Peruvian joints I visit.

How does it compare to this Peruvian spot in Albuquerque?
