At some point in life you have to get over your parents naming you Shia.

Or that the best acting gig you could have ever had, saw your character killed in Vietnam.

Let the man who hasn't taken his shirt off in a NOLA bar during Mardi Gras and said "do you know who I am" with puke and piss all over yourself throw the first stone, I say.

Shit I've seen cops do crazier stuff than that in Nola. I once saw one ride his horse half way in to a bar to get a bottle of water.

I'm sorry... what is the story here?

Idiot from Ohio didn't even screenshot or pull quote from the relevant part - just made it sound like he was drunk at Mardi Gras (who isn't?)

NEW ORLEANS — Actor Shia LaBeouf has been released from custody on the condition that he will attend future court hearings, Orleans Parish records show. He was arrested early Mardi Gras Day after two men reported they were assaulted by the actor, according to the New Orleans Police Department.

Court records show the renowned actor was arrested early Tuesday morning. NOPD said they responded at 12:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of Royal Street, after LaBeouf was identified as the man who was "reportedly causing a disturbance and becoming increasing[ly] aggressive at a Royal Street business," a release said.

He faces two charges of simple battery.

Police said a staff member tried to make LaBeouf leave and when he was removed from the building, he allegedly hit one of the victims with "his closed fists" multiple times.

Victims told police LaBeouf "left, but then came back, acting even more aggressive" as people tried to hold him back.

He reportedly hit the same person again, landing punches to their upper body. He then reportedly struck another person in the nose before being held down again until police arrived.

He has pretty public substance issues and had been sober for some time. I know the sorry for partying jokes are right there, but I hate to see people that were doing well relapse.

Probably the most unintentionally funny podcast I’ve ever heard. Long interview with Jon Bernthal and Shia.

Yeah he has some real demons.

Has always seemed to me like a pretty good guy when he has his head straight, and he's been open and honest about his issues. Sometimes you need to get your ass kicked again.

Hopefully it's a slip up and he can keep moving forward and not follow the Bam Margera career path. Looks like this was his first incident in five or six years which is a decent stretch as a fellow self-destructive alcoholic.

I figured it was 'LaBeouf" he was needing to get over.

Haha wow. That’s just kinda mean to JGL

Yeah, other than looking a bit similar I can’t think of two more different guys.

Yeah I don't really get it. Shia is a much more flawed and interesting person in my book and potentially as a result a much better actor.

JGL is just kind of... there? He's pretty good in Inception I guess.

I’ve always been a JGL fan. As a former child star himself he’s avoided all those pitfalls to create a solid career. Inception, Dark Knight, Looper, 50/50, Hesher, Snowden, The Lookout…

Yeah, it's not full of pathos, but surviving child acting as a relatively normal adult seems to be a fairly extraordinary feat.

Hell, a lot of adults don't survive it intact.

was at a concert at emo's several years ago when the band abruptly stopped mid-song due to a disruption at the front by the stage. security rushed up there and grabbed somebody, as they were escorting him back through the crowd i saw that it was shia lebeouf. he was apparently shoving people and harassing women. /csb

I was Ms Mae’s right before he got kicked out.

I mean, Brother’s III, 45 Tchoup and Ms. Mae’s before getting arrested at R Bar is pretty epic. I was joking to someone that all he had left was Poor Boys and, lo and behold, according to Reddit he tried to force himself in after closing time MGD.

I was thinking he peaked on Even Stevens.

What a missed opportunity. He should have gone down, then from the ground screamed "BUMBLEBEE"

Honestly with Shia, I fully believe he is a nightmare to be around and a total nut job and wtf was the whole plagiarism thing but I just don’t care. If he’s in a movie and it seems at least kinda interesting I’m probably going to like it.

Same. Dude can act and is pretty good at that craft. Seems like a horrible person though.
