Damn. Too young. Always played kind of happy, well-adjusted types. RIP.

While I generally agree with this, Lewis Skolnick was a low key rapist.

Nothing low key about it, lol, straight up rape. Still a great movie. RIP.

Rough when your career highlight is people asking, "Hey, remember when that nerd raped that girl, but it was weirdly okay back then?"

So, I posted this to another thread but it fits here as well. Harvard and Princeton Men’s Lacrosse beat the #1 and #2 teams this weekend. The Ivy League post was strong (scroll to 3rd slide).

What I meant by "low key" was that he wasn't violent or aggressive. Not to diminish the fact that it was definitely non-consensual sex.

You were just trying to sound young. Epic fail.

Going to rewatch The Long Riders in his memory.

Still one of the top 5 westerns ever made & the greatest casting stunt ever pulled off.

I assume this scene is the reason the movie is never on TV. And you can’t explain how Betty ends up with Lewis without it I guess you could cut her from the ending.

There are definite 70s and 80s movies that if you want the original cut today, you realize how rapey some writers and directors were in those years. They could have had her fall for Lewis without a second degree felony involved.

So a roofie-rape is low key as long as you're gentile?

Animal House also has the double whammy scene of pass-out-drunk/statutory rape

She consented to the sex, so not rape. She thought he was someone else, so 'seduction by trick.'

If you entered a charity boxing tournament and unknowingly fought Floyd Mayweather incognito, would you think that he committed assault?

What a stupid, nonsensical comparison. For one, yeah probably. If you weren't made implicitly aware beforehand that you were fighting a professional boxer, and he took it seriously and injured you, that's absolutely assault if you opted to press charges. Possibly attempted murder depending on the severity of your injuries.

Here's a better comparison: your friend is out of town on a work trip, you enter his wife's pitch dark bedroom, and, impersonating his voice, ask and get permission to fuck her. That's 100% by-the-book rape, even if she enjoys it and isn't even mad when the lights turn on. Arguing otherwise is insane.

It is nothing of the sort. Do you know the difference between consent and pretenses?

Leave it to surly to always have at least one creeper ready and willing to "well ackshually" consent laws.

Holy shit, do you? In the movie she consented to sex with her boyfriend not with Louis. Would you feel the same if a girl was ready for sex in the dark with her boyfriend and he lets his roommate comes in and does the deed without telling her? (Actually don’t answer that). And did you seriously raise “seduction by trick.” Thats an ancient law that comes up in law school and usually involved false promises of marriage and didn’t require sex to be invoked. Goddamn did the CFP thing break your brain that much or have you always been a rape supporter?

I agree. That scene gives me the creeps but the movie overall is still great. I was done until I saw this thread popping back up and clicked out of curiosity and we have a domer justifying rape in the creepiest way possible.

The Medievals had different laws for seduction and rape because they are different crimes. In fact, it's not at all hard to see the difference. People like you who want to sneakily bring back seduction as a crime are only pretending that they are the same thing.

I consented to sleep with a tech mogul, not an entrepreneur! RAPE

Louis and Stan are different people you disgusting fuck! If I tell a girl I'm the QB of the Dallas Cowboys and she fucks me thinking i'm a rich celebrity it's gross but not rape. If I put on a mask and impersonate a girls boyfriend and she fucks me thinking I"m him thats fucking rape. What the actual fuck is wrong with you?

No it is not. One is a different manner of misrepresentation, but both are done for the same result. Your kind of dumbass refusal to see the difference is not just stupid, it will cause harm to normal people.

You think someone putting on a mask to impersonate a girls boyfriend and fucking them is something normal people do and harmful to punish it? Is this some sort of new Catholic bit? You are a legit rapist. I'm done here, fucking disgusting.

What if I fucked you wearing a Floyd Mayweather mask?
