Big part of his extension was already paid by the Dolphins. There's a lot of flexibility in his contract too. Bo needs weapons and the Broncos got one. They chose to get the sure thing for a first and third rather than rolling the dice with the 30th overall pick who may not pan out.

Broncos #1 is the 30th pick, so maybe a slight overpay, but not huge. If he can produce it's worth it.

IIRC the 3rd and 4th rounders are also the 30th picks (so Denver's own picks, not ones from a trade) and they moved up in the 4th.

The Dolphins will have $175 million in dead money this season and no player will make more than $11.4 million. Willis' big numbers don't kick in until 2027. It sucks but the Dolphins are doing the right thing. Take the short term pain to rebuild.
