It is funny, I see guys turn and kind of 3/4 face guard the rebounder more just because of this, knowing that these pushes under the basket get ignored by shitty refs all the time. at least if you are facing the guy you have a chance of standing your ground and can at least tip the ball away.

Some of you sound like Aggies. It was shitty reffing, no doubt - and we were hurt by it. But it is silly to think there is some NCAA plan to screw Texas in favor of Purdue. What, now the NCAA doesn't like ratings and money? Okay.

The officiating in this one wasn't terrible outside of the way they handled TKR. They just let TKR's antics dictate how the game was played. The fact he only picked up 2 fouls when the entire 2nd half was him either hooking or holding or just completely ramming into a Texas player is absurd.

I think the most frustrating thing about the last no call is not that a foul wasn't called. It's that they allowed contact but throughout the rest of the game you couldn't touch TKR when he was the one intiating contact.

There wasn't some conspiracy. It's just that those dirty fuckers planned on and were taught to hook and foul on every play knowing the refs wouldn't stop play every two seconds to call it. And the refs went along with it. The only nit I'll pick is that our guys never wised up to it. They kept playing like eventually the refs would notice and call it. When it became apparent that wasn't the case, we should have adjusted our play. By the time we did at the end, it was too late and our bigs were sitting on the bench either fouled out or avoiding that fate.

i’ve never seen cbb twitter more unified than they currently are re: how much everyone hated the way purdue played and won that game. there will be no neutral fans for purdue vs arizona, just purdue fans and then the entire rest of the country.

i watched a lot of illinois, sparty, and michigan this year, but i find braden smith and fletcher loyer to be unlikable, so i avoided watching purdue. looking at TKF’s stats the last couple years you’re picturing a guy who plays maybe like a less explosive damion james, and then you tune and the guy he plays like is cam skattebo. just wildly “unethical” play as they say these days. total junk player.

The closest I’ve seen to the reaction from Thursday was our game in 2014 against Okie State at DKR where the Rig 12 Refs earned their reputation. We actually had aggy and Gooner media types calling the Refs out. We almost never get the benefit of the Ref screwed us card unless the evidence is too overwhelming and the usual Texas hate mafia can’t even deny it.

As much as TKR drove me nuts being allowed to bang and flop with no fouls called there is an art to drawing fouls and he’s a senior that knows how to do it. VOK is horrible at this and it shows in most games, as he gets older hopefully he can improve in this area but we will see. Either way we have a bright future with miller.

That was my initial reaction as I was watching the game. But after seeing the replay it is 3 fucking fouls. He hooks his arm, then shoved him in the back, then has his hand on Swain’s shoulder as he goes over the back. It’s terrible officiating. And they let the dude do shit like that all game long. We did get a break on the somewhat questionable foul call that allowed us to tie the game on the previous possession. I immediately told my dad we were probably better off had they not called that foul, allowing us to go for a quick steal or foul and then allow us to have the ball for the last shot. Mark or Pope would have nailed a 3 to send Purdue home.

The game wasn’t rigged. The refs just aren’t competent.

100%. i was at that game, will never forget it. my dad and i were sitting next to two osu fans, and when the game ended they didn’t even celebrate. we all jus looked at each other and they shrugged, and kinda apologized with their body language. everyone knew what we saw out there that day. hell, shaun king wrote something for the AP that straight up said, “this game was rigged and these officials must be investigated.” truly the most insane referee screw job i’ve ever seen in person.

Combine the "letting them play" style of tourney officiating with TKR's style of ball, and you had a recipe for TKR being extremely effective - or fantastically irritating, depending on your perspective.

The hook and the hook-and-hold are quite annoying - and the latter can be very dangerous.

TKR has some of the best offensive footwork I have seen. And he's developed into an extremely skilled player. I just do not care for "gamesmanship" part of his game - histrionics, flops, hooks, etc.

Regardless, I believe Purdue gets rolled tonight. Arizona is just too good...

Yeah he's a good player but the hooking and flopping makes him extremely unlikeable. The entire neutral internet seems to agree.

Of course the Rig 12 didn’t even bother to investigate and the crew chief Alan Litchman ended up a few years later in the NFL where he is now a crew chief. Go fricken figure.
