what adjustments did Hurley make and what didn't Scheyer do? to me they both ran the exact same except Duke got 5 quick ones, had to back off a bit, and UConn was in the bonus and double bonus quick. UConn needed every opportunity because they were missing FT's and 3's still. UConn made some a few 3's late, before the last one, which was just a matter of percentages, IMO. Dook's 13 TO's helped as well.

UCONN held the Duke guards to six points in the second half and forced them to have to play through Boozer and the bigs which slowed them down and led to more live ball turnovers. Duke averaged 10 turnovers a game and had 8 in the second half alone. 34/44 points scored by UCONN in the second half were off of fast break, turnovers or second chance points. UCONN made a concentrated effort to speed up the game in the second half and Scheyer couldn't adjust.

actually according to the data UCONN played faster in the first half. yes Duke had a total of 3 more TO's in the second half but real issue was due to foul trouble scheyer had to switch out Ngongba and Brown off/on. UCONN did play more physical in the 2H and got rewarded for it. they also hit 4 of their 5 3's.

How do you not work on an end of game scenario where, oh I don’t know, you TELL YOUR GUYS TO HOLD the ball and take a foul? The shot itself is legendary and while the game is more fresh in my mind than Kentucky-Duke, this shot was made possible by some guys with a VERY LOW end of game basketball IQ. You have to just have no situational awareness to have done what Duke did. Credit to UConn for forcing the TO, but that sequence is entirely on Duke’s players and their clown show of a head coach. They got the ending that they made possible.

I did just see a video that Hurley said he was super amped up and not acting like a human. But the ref did lean in to tell him there that was time on the clock and Hurley put his forehead on the ref’s forehead

So I take it back. Hurley was the one making a pass at the ref
