Daily controversy from the regime, involving matters governmental and personal, passes without comment or any attempt to defend.

One prominent fuckup from the opposition, and you get a whole thread about it.

He confirms the cheating but denies the assault. Whatever, asshole. You're done.

This is why evil will always triumph because Democratic candidates are dumb.

Ol’ Earl is accidentally gonna put a spotlight on the difference between Democrats and Republicans in this thread.

Later, dude.

Well, one difference is that Democrats consider pedophilia a mental disorder and not a crime, as Republicans do. With that being said, I would think you people would show some empathy to the accused in the Epstein affair.

WA Democrats are trying to normalize “Minor Attracted Persons” like this guy.

And they want to strip away parental rights.

I can confidently say I've met zero Democrats who don't think pedophilia should be a crime. And can count a great number of Republicans who are actual pedophiles.

#63

I don't understand their point.

If you never interact with children, why should I care if you are a pedo in your heart? If you just sit in a cave someplace by yourself, being a pedo, and not hurting anybody? Are they calling for thought crimes?

This reminds me of the idea that is ok if you sexually abuse kids so long as they are like 15, because that is not being a pedo. Like what the fuck do I care whether or not you are a pedo if you sexually abuse kids? It is the sexual abuse that is the problem, not whether you fit some clinical definition of something.

It is sexually abusing people that is the crime. Not some status you have.

What in the fuck is this absolute bullshit?

It is a mental disorder, in many, if not most cases. It is also a crime when a pedophile acts out. A huge percentage of crimes result from mental disorders.

On occasion, a crime is "excused" by a severe mental disorder. In other cases, consequences should be mitigated for crimes having causation closely related to mental disorders. Or are you opposed to veteran's courts, for example?

And, the status of being a pedophile has never been a crime in the United States of America, just like being a drug addict is not a crime, or an alcoholic.

If someone with pedophilic tendencies can keep from acting on them, there's no crime to prosecute. Just as if the addict or alky doesn't get behind the wheel, or commit assault or petty theft.

Unless this is another aspect of your fascist future world fantasy.

Edit: Meant to tag @TwiceHorn on this. Figured he'd appreciate this.

I mean, we all know it's cognitive dissonance driving Trump supporters, but now we've got psychological research validating that theory through three surveys.

https://www.psypost.org/cognitive-dissonance-helps-explain-why-trump-supporters-remain-loyal-new-research-suggests/

KEY FINDINGS: @Earl Haffler is in a cult, but he will undoubtedly ignore all of this.

October 2019 (shortly before abuse of power impeachment)

  • Participants offered three primary responses to resolve their psychological discomfort. The most common reaction, provided by over half the group, was explicitly stating that they did not believe the accusations.

  • Almost a third of the respondents explained that they cared about his political policies rather than his personal life.

  • Another third justified their stance by claiming that other politicians and wealthy individuals commit similar misdeeds. Some participants provided more than one of these justifications.

  • “I was surprised to see that many of the participants used very similar language. They repeated Trump’s phrases like ‘fake news’ and ‘drain the swamp,'” Harmon-Jones told PsyPost.

December 2019 (following abuse of power impeachment)

  • The justifications for his alleged misconduct heavily replicated the first study. Participants largely denied the accusations, pointed to his policies, or noted that others behave similarly.

  • A new response category also emerged in this group, with about 15 percent of respondents explicitly stating that they simply did not care about the alleged misdeeds.

October 2022 (just after Trump was arraigned for his involvement in the January 6 Capitol attack)

  • The results from the third study echoed the earlier findings, though participants relied even more heavily on disbelief.

  • Over 60 percent of the respondents claimed the accusations regarding election interference and the Capitol attack were false.

  • A small minority of participants, about 13 percent, noted that they had supported Trump in the past but no longer did so after learning about his actions.

“Other people who struggle to understand why Trump’s followers support him might be interested in how they explain this,” Harmon-Jones said. “The most common way was that they said they do not believe the accusations. Other common justifications we found were that they care about his policies not his personal life, and that all politician and wealthy men commit illegal and immoral acts. Some participants said they just did not care about the accusations. ”

*****

“Some people might think that these findings aren’t due to dissonance and that the participants simply did not believe the information,” Harmon-Jones said. “However, in Study 3 was asked people whether the information about the accusations of Trump’s misconduct conflicted with their beliefs and if so, how bothered were they by the information. The more bothered they said they were, the more likely they were to say they didn’t believe the accusations. We interpreted this to mean that those participants were experiencing dissonance and not just coolly disbelieving the information.”

Yeah I don't have to do a study for that. I've had it happen numerous times in my life. "So what about his career of ripping people off, dozens of assault accusations including a conviction, two inpeachments, the 34 felonies, the 50+ other felony counts that were dropped because he was elected president, stealing from charities, running a scam university, etc.....?

"Oh you can't believe any of that is real."
