Widow's Bay (Apple TV)

Anyone catch the first two episodes yet?

We watched the first one last night.

Love Matthew Rhys and Steven Root. Laughed out loud several times. The writing is great.

"He only murdered teenage girls. You're in your 40s. What? Why is that more upsetting?"

"The cannibalism didn't start for four days".

Seconded. Not sure I’ve seen Rhys be funny before but I’m liking it.

are we sure stephen king is not involved with this?

We started watching the other night without much background. At some point, the wife turned and asked me if it was a Stephen King show.

I made a similar comment to my wife. We're only one episode in and it's entertaining so far.

I haven't seen much of Matthew Rhys before this and The Beast in Me (with critically acclaimed over-actor Claire Danes). He's really good.

Yes. You should definitely watch The Americans.

I know I overrate it compared to most, but I think it's a top 5 all-time tv show for me. And it's probably my favorite finale ever.

Oh, it's solidly in my top 5. Great story, Rhys does an amazing job, and you've got prime Keri Russell.

After The Americans, check out Perry Mason (HBO).

Yes. There were only 2 or 3 seasons. I think there were high production costs and just not a big enough audience. Pretty sure there's a thread in here on it.

That sounds right. Couldn't remember if there was a third. First season was the faith healer chick and the second season was Waterston's daughter, right?

I really only remember the first season plot.

Are you sure this wasn’t an animal that did this to you?

No, why does it look like an animal wound?

Not to me.

Now that I’ve started Widow’s Bay, I need advice on the topic of this thread: Should I rewatch The Americans?

Never heard of it.

High quality show. You know it’s good writing when you laugh and snicker and then shit your pants in the same half hour.

This show is great, the way they mix mystery/horror & and comedy is fantastic. It’s like some sort of mash up of Stephen King, David Lynch, Coen Bothers and Mike Judge.

Fucking got me looking forward to Wednesday every week. Goddamn this is fun.

This is what they should have done with the Salem’s Lot reboot instead of that pile of shit we got on Max.
